I'm concerned about the Mets needing him to throw big innings down the stretch. Who's in the bullpen to take the ball from Santana if he goes 5 1/3 and has to leave with a one run lead? I guess I see him pitching more innings than he ought to and wearing down.Dewey, Cheatem, & Howehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124710422026665958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-67118152860407778822008-01-30T09:45:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:45:00.000-05:00Yeh, im VERY happy I kept in in fantasy.Santana wi...Yeh, im VERY happy I kept in in fantasy.

Santana will benefit regardless since he has a better offense in a weaker division (who dont get hurt often). But the Mets wont do much better overall. Pedro is always hurt and John Mainne isnt a sure thing yet. The Mets still have a sub-par rotation.SayHey Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02721909040778832609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-21347325744374031632008-01-30T09:34:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:34:00.000-05:00Hence why SHK is so excited about Santana pitching...Hence why SHK is so excited about Santana pitching in the NL now.

I'm with DC&H on this though, not so much that he'll stop pitching well but more so that Met Injury Bug will come visit and ruin everyone's day.Jack Gonzo, MDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05402240056740725609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-36221269110933709612008-01-30T09:24:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:24:00.000-05:00I just see this being a monster year for Santana m...I just see this being a monster year for Santana moving to the NL, no matter what division.

The National League is the far inferior league in almost every respect, but especially offense and hitting in general.

This would have made me want to hold on to Santana in any "Keeper" fantasy league, thats for sure...Dewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17502783621058436874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-62258386390937090232008-01-30T09:13:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:13:00.000-05:00HAH best answer ever!!!HAH best answer ever!!!SayHey Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02721909040778832609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-48475097338542611682008-01-30T09:12:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:12:00.000-05:00I dunno, it is the Mets.I dunno, it is the Mets.Dewey, Cheatem, & Howehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124710422026665958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-58366266464793378972008-01-30T09:06:00.000-05:002008-01-30T09:06:00.000-05:00Well, when it is 2-time Cy Young winner Johan Sant...Well, when it is 2-time Cy Young winner Johan Santana, why settle for anything less than a potential ROY and solid 3 starter?? But even Boston said they wouldnt pay him a salary of 6 years, 150 million.

His career will likely improve in the NL East. The Phillies, and Brave rely HEAVILY on their left handed hitting power, which Santana always seems to neutralize. Marlins dont have anything, and the Nats rely on small ball.

I must give NY credit, they made one hell of an acquisition here. He is 2-0 lifetime with a .60 ERA at Shea.SayHey Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02721909040778832609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-36810367071096054922008-01-30T08:48:00.000-05:002008-01-30T08:48:00.000-05:00I think the Twins were asking too much for Santana...I think the Twins were asking too much for Santana from the Red Sox. They wanted some kind of Ellsbury-Lester-top prospect deal. I don't think that the Sox could justify giving up a potential ROY centerfielder, a solid 3 starter, and a solid prospect for one player, even if it is Santana.

Is it just me, or do you get the feeling that Santana's career is about to take a nosedive?Dewey, Cheatem, & Howehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124710422026665958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8129216040599184876.post-10619679862089549862008-01-29T17:36:00.000-05:002008-01-29T17:36:00.000-05:00Gomez has potential to be a star in the leagueWell...Gomez has potential to be a star in the league

Well just see how much money the mets are willing to throw at Santana.
