First, about the Celtics 106-102 win at home in Game 5 last night, there's really only one thing to say: Ubuntu! I purposefully avoided watching most of the game last night, because like a good contingent of Boston sports fans, any time I watch, my team loses. I brought work home last night and sat in my kitchen while the game was on in the other room. I finally swallowed my fears and watched the last six minutes, only to see the lead shrink to one. I nearly had a heart attack when Garnett rattled his first free throw in with 3.4 seconds left. But all is well, and they won.
But, still, leave it up to the anti-Boston media to take a big, steaming dump on the C's after they held on against a very, very good Detroit team. How many times can they say something like "With all due respect to Boston..." and then basically call them the worst team to get this far in the history of everything, ever? It sucks.
You know what else sucks? Studying for the bar. I spent last summer in inexplicably sweltering South Royalton, Vermont studying. There wasn't much to do for fun. We did have a couple of risque moments (booze + stressed guys and girls + heat + river = you figure it out), but we never did anything quite like this.
In a nearly unrelated note, I'm proud to introduce you all to The Hoary Marmot, which is your #1 Source for Gross Generalizations and Unsubstantiated Conjecture Regarding Life in Fairbanks, Alaska. LSWTF.com will remain your #1 source for gross generalizations about life in Vermont and unsubstantiated conjecture about the quality of baseball in San Francisco.
Cheers!

Luckily veto power has been issued about said...activities...while CityCar does barbri this summer.
ReplyDeleteWait, they have quality baseball in San Fran?
I failed to watch the Celts game last night as well. I felt obligated to watch the epic failure which I have named "The LA Dodgers" on tv.
ReplyDeleteBut yeh, I am completely and 100% in agreement with you regarding the Celtics. They are the only franchise that has stood the test of time in beantown and their bball fans are indeed true fans of the sport. What can I say; I like them and are pulling for them to win it all!!
I have noticed that everyone and their mother have discounted the Celts very playoff existance. When Kendrick Perkins drops 18/16, you know the critics need to quiet themselves!
Quiet you-
ReplyDeleteWe are riding a 4 game winning streak ya jackass!! Spanked Dan Haren 2 nights ago and crucified Doug Davis last night.
You'll notice I said "unsubstantiated conjecture about the quality of baseball in San Francisco" - it cuts both ways donchaknow.
ReplyDeleteThere were some serious shenanigans when I studied for the bar. Get stressed out 20-somethings in a small town with nothing exciting to do and all sorts of stuff happens.
Is Dews alive?
His demise is neither confirmed nor denied.
ReplyDeleteYou just talked about crucifying a cancer survivor...and you killed Jesus.
Leave it to you "liberals" to blow something way out of proportion!
ReplyDeleteAnd NO, I did not kill Jesus. Unfortunatly I was born 1,945 years after his death. And for the record, Roman soldiers killed Jesus!
Dews was at a kickball HH last night, which means he is hating life or still asleep.
Sins of the father man...sins of the father...did Stalin kill all those Russians by himself?
ReplyDeleteMy father is a Christian and German......Try again.
ReplyDeleteI can confirm that Dews is alive and well.. maybe not well but alive anyways..
ReplyDeleteBut either way, 2000 years have passed since the death of Jesus BY the ROMAN hand. Cant we just agree to let this one go?
ReplyDeleteOr should I continue to listen and read this religious hipocracy?
Toss a y in there, champ.
ReplyDeleteI mean, the Romans didn't just up and decide to crucify Jesus. Someone, somewhere, had to have given them the idea. If only there were an account of his death to tell us who that might have been.
Dewey- Please dont be an asshole. We all know my spelling isnt exactly the greatest (we all have flaws). So do me that favor and deal with it.
ReplyDeleteBut no, im not arguing that the Jewish elite didnt throw the idea of crucifying him. But when some guy walks into your town and proclaims himself "The King of the Jews", people get threatened. If Dubya said "God chose me to be president" 2000 years ago, im sure the religious majority would have done the same thing.
I'm the King of the Jews!
ReplyDeleteBring it Romans
Spooky!
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to be a dick. It just bugs the shit out of me.
ReplyDelete1000+ posts later you complain.....funny
ReplyDeletejesus is everyone touchy today
ReplyDeleteSeems like it
ReplyDeleteThe "hair in the vagina" post from hell.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what’s the happs on the bracks!?
Let's hug it out.
ReplyDeleteIs voting set to start?
Next to last day at work, so a bit busy, but it should be up before the end of the business day
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteGives me something to look forward to tomorrow
Alive... FYI.
ReplyDeleteSubstituting dinner for Margaritas = bad idea. Especially when said Margaritas are the "chaser" for numerous pitchers of lite beer for drinking games...
Can't believe I missed a Catholic, a Jew and an "Other" arguing about religion earlier... damnit...
