Damn sheep...

Biggest Jackass in the world currently
Ok, I know I'm in the vast minority here when it comes to supporting Barry Bonds (Say Hey being the other one in the world, but he's a Giants fan), so I'm sure nobody else will agree with me on this...

But here goes.

Putting a freakin asterisk on Bonds' record breaking ball is the most retarded thing (outside of blasting it into space) you could do.

Look people, we have a system of judgment in this country. You are innocent until proven guilty. Barry Bonds has never tested positive for any steroid while it was banned by major league baseball.

He may very well have used chemicals to enhance his ability to heal and stay in shape, but can you honestly look me in the eye and believe he was the only one? Where do you draw the line? Do you throw out any record achieved in the last 20-30-40-or even 50 years? Do you really think people just started using Steroids to enhance their abilities or recovery time? Why do you think the Olympics have been testing for substances for so long?

Do any of you really believe that Bonds is the only one? Why in the world would you be so readily willing to accept that reality but not the one that many pitchers have been doing the same? In reality the effects of steroids would be far more beneficial to pitchers in enhancing their healing abilities then it would to an already Hall-of-Fame hitter/fielder/all around great played like Barry Bonds...

Just really bothers me.... Thats all.

PS: Hall of fame is an even bigger group of jackasses for accepting the ball after its been branded, unless it puts a more realistic bend on this and embraces the fact that most all players probably used SOMETHING during their career in this era...

THANK YOU!!!! History is history, everything is debatable, look at
Maris, everyone wanted an aterick by his name, thank God true baseball people faught that moronic move. And yes, I just called everyone in favor of this Bonds ball decision a "fake baseball fan"!!

That being said, Sunday is his last day as a Giant. Thank GOD!! Time to focus on the Giants and not Bonds-bashing comments.

There is controversy in just about every aspect of every game. You cant pick and choose what history to keep. You sure as hell cannot deform it just for a publicity stunt, which is what this retard is doing.

If that were the case, just about everything in sports should be branded with an asterick.

Everything in sports didn't break what is one of the most beloved records of all time, two of them, with performance enhancers. We KNOW he took performance enhancers, he hasn't been found guilty because his defense is the whole I didn't know what I was putting in my body bs.

You dont know anything. The scandal has been around for years and not one proof-positive test has been reveiled. The second it is (if so) then the subject is dropped for me.

In the time being, your condemning a man who has passed every drug test. The conspiracy theorist you sometimes can be, thinks MLB is hiding this information. Which is understandable, but until we see a drug test or needle, you have no leg to stand on.

He hasn't tested positive and thus has not been suspended by MLB.

Since he hasn't tested positive, then there is no concrete "proof" that he has broken any so called "Sacred" rules by baseball (The game that celebrates cheating).

This isn't a Raffy Palmeiro situation here, its someone that looks like and talks like he did roids, but has never been suspended for it. Thus, you can't punish him for it.

That being said, Perhaps McGuire's 49 Rookie homerun record ball should be branded.

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

Perhaps it should be.

This isn't about drug testing, the man has enough money to be more advanced then any test. What I am referring to is his grand jury testimony where he was asked if he used certain substances they knew were performance enhancers and he said yes but his defense was "hi didn't know what they were".

All of Babe Ruth's records should be branded as well. He didn't compete with African American athletes that were immensely better (Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige, Coolpapa Bell, etc etc).

As well as any athlete that played before Jackie Robinson. Throw all those records out the window.

While we're at it, throw out any record that happened BEFORE the Japanese Posting system was developed, Rule 5, Amateur Draft, etc etc etc...

The sport is saturated with controversy. I highly doubt that Bond's finances can beat a drug test. Raffy has money and didnt beat the system. Saying Bonds can financially mask himself of drugs is a bit out there.

And lets say he is guilty, the alleged drug use took place before the ban, hell, before this was an issue. Im not agreeing with it drug use, but think about it.

I guess I missed something- how is Bond's being punished here? Because his ball is being branded with an Asterisk? Can someone please tell me what prevented Bonds from buying the ball in auction instead of this guy? The winning bid was less than $800,000- pocket change for Bonds.

Let's get real, btw. Nobody's head grows four hat sizes between the ages of 25 and 40 without some artificial help. The guy is a cheat. Hall of Fame player? You bet- take away ALL his Home Runs, and he still qualifies. Which is just part of the tragedy- Bonds couldnt be satisfied being one of the all-time greats- nope, he had to pump god knows how many chemicals into his system to break a record even he admits won't stand for more than six or seven years (until A-Rod breaks it.) So instead of being forever Barry Bonds, All-Time Great, he'll forever be Barry Bonds, Punchline.

Bed. Made. Lie.
