I love the fact that this article on Yahoo came out today, the week that I am going to try my hardest to meet the greatest of all time, Rickey Henderson.
My Henderson A's jersey is hanging in the closet, my fifth row tickets are purchased, and I have swapped shifts with my co-worker so I can be one of the first people in the stadium for batting practice. I am determined to somehow someway get my picture taken with Rickey.
130 stolen bases in a season. That's over a stolen base every other game, just under a stolen base 75% of games played that year, and that's just counting 182, not games played that season. In 1982 when he broke the record he played in 149 games. Think about that, 130 stolen bases in 149 games. This thing will last longer then the home run record ever did.
