Sugary fruity drinks cause Hyperactivity?

I don't even know why this is news to be honest, but this is an easy one to comment on...
Tests on more than 300 children showed significant differences in their behavior when they drank fruit drinks spiked with a mixture of food colorings and preservatives, Jim Stevenson and colleagues at the University of Southampton said.
Gee, ya think?

Now, if they could separate the effects of the preservatives and the sugary badness that is contained in this stuff, then I could get behind this study, but to blame a sugary drink on hyperactivity is about as news-worthy as blaming a volcano for recent deaths nearby when it erupts.
