According to a study Doctor assisted suicides does not lead to a jump in deaths. Imagine that, people still want to live when the option for someone to assist them in death is even on the table. Who would have thought that even possible?! People would be dying by the millions if doctor assisted death was allowed!
Sadly, this is not true. People will find other ways to end their lives if they want to, the least we could be is humane and allow someone who is knowledgeable to assist them to go as peacefully as possible. I just love the fact that the groups who support the right to life the most are the same groups who would be the first one to flip the switch for someone to ride the lightning.

Im pulling a bushism- I have a "gut" feeling this is more about the ethics of assisted suicide. Everything boils down to money. If people werent sick then pharmacutical companies and HMO/PPO's lose BILLIONS of dollars. There is no money if people simply die. Think about it.
I know its a stretch, but EVERYTHING that prevents people from making money stirs an ethical debate.
