Tough Break Man........

Imagine yourself buying a scratch off lotto ticket and hitting the jackpot. I know I do every second of everyday. Now imagine you being a convicted felon doing the exact same thing. Turns out the results are alittle more harsh if you are a criminal. Tomothy Elliott, a convicted con man from the great state of Massachusetts, won the 1 million dollar scratch-off prize.........And may goto jail and lose them winnings. Why you ask??

Well, Mr. Elliott was found guilty of armed robbery in 2006 and placed on 5 years probation. No Jail time. However, the terms stated in his probation was that he was barred from gambling of any sorts.......Including a scratch off lotto ticket. The terms state that he "may not gamble, purchase lottery tickets or visit an establishment where gaming is conducted, including restaurants where Keno may be played".

To be honest, I think it sucks for Mr. Elliott. I know he is a felon and made a deal with the Mormon stacked lawmakers of Massachusetts, but its a scratch off ticket. The man hits it big and will definitely lose it and whats worse is that there is a high probability that he will goto jail. Sometimes the easy way out is not the best way. Perhaps if he served his sentence things would have been a tad more different. My question is how will the money be distributed?? Cant put it back in the lottery can you??

wow... That totally sucks man...

I think they do just roll it over to the next time though? Isn't that how the pot gets bigger?

Guess I'm not sure now though.

Yeh, i mean it would prolly cost the state to customize another lotto ticket and recirculate it.

I just hope Mitt keeps his damn dirty hands off of it. He may be out of office, but he is shaddy.

yea really, you'd think he coulda found someone to split it with?

maybe he just didn't think that the ticket counted against his probation?
