American based group of nut-jobs that follow sci-fi writer Ray Bradbury's insane idea of a religion based on whether clams want to be open or closed, was dealt another blow today by a Belgian court.
A Belgian prosecutor on Tuesday recommended that the U.S.-based Church of Scientology stand trial for fraud and extortion, following a 10-year investigation that concluded the group should be labeled a criminal organization.Not that I'm at all surprised by this turn of events, as the "church" has been investigated throughout Europe for some time now for their heavy-handed methodology of dealing with folks that don't like them, or dare to call them out for the nut-jobs they are.
It never ceases to amaze me though just how powerful this organization was able to become. I mean, there are some strange stories when it comes to religious beliefs and all (virgin birth, golden discs found by alcoholic, killing all first born in a city for shits, etc), but this whole Xenu the evil space alien warlord stealing my ability thing?
I guess I'm just too much of a skeptic to buy this line, but my bigger issue is, wtf is wrong with those people that do???
