"Order some golf shoes," I whispered. "Otherwise, we'll never got out of this place alive..."

The rumors of my demise has been hastily reported by those who have no reason the be throwing stones in glass houses. Especially since I now live in Texas, and am likely armed...to the teeth. See kick the dirt towards the rattlesnake, wake it from its slumber, and enjoy having some stranger in a smock suck the poison out.

Yes, Houston has been fine, for the most part. I still know very few people and those I do know are either future lawyers taking the bar with CityCat, my neighbors at Astros games, and our actual neighbors. Save for that I haven't met much in this town. Of course the wide expanse and lack of public transportation has killed any real chance of kickball being played. They have all attempted and have died trying, and I am far too old to be trying to create something for a bunch of blood crazed twenty year olds who in their spare time like to drink Bud Light Lime out of the cavernous skull cups of their enemies.

I assume that I should find something out about the possible job here this week or the next. Of course this job will severely limit my ability to any mock drafts as I would think they probably frown on me given any kind of look that I have inside information. If I don't get the job, who knows what I'll do. Oddly enough it is the only place where I submitted an application that I received a call back from. It appears to me that Southeast Texas concerns itself more with where you have gone to school then your actual experience and capabilities. Then again I don't really want any other job then the one I'm trying to get at this time so here's to hoping that works out.

My life is nothing but TV Shows DVDs, 360 and writing. I have completed Battlestar Galactica, or at least what is out on DVD. I bought the wife and I the complete series of X-Files and that's a blast. I also now own the complete series of the original Star Trek and have just begun that as well. 360 wise is slow, but that's just till Tuesday, then NCAA Football 09 comes out and I'll disappear again for another year. Of course the Dark Knight comes out next week...I can't think about it too much, I don't need another...episode.

I have attempted to write much more, but the current national scene is depressing, we're talking watching a dog that just got hit by a tractor trailer try to walk off the road depressing. John McCain has become some Dickens caricature mixture of Scrooge and Fagin with a lil bit of Grandpa Simpson thrown in there for good measure. Obama appears to now be playing politics, forgetting the lesson of George McGovern in 1972 of don't change what brought you to the dance in the first place.

McCain lies constantly, and the media fails to point it out. Obama indicates he has learned something and everything in the world has changed. It makes this writer sick, and that's not even bringing up the FISA mess that more or less re-writes history and law while wiping their collective asses with the Fourth Amendment. The only good that has happened in recent memory is Jim Webb paying for my college degree, thank you Jim Webb.

This country is starting to look more and more like 1972, but then again this country hates to learn from history and we continue to make the same mistakes we made thirty years ago. The people clamor for change, a new direction, then go and vote for the same assholes in every election. It's nice to want change, but if you're not willing to actually help the process along you deserve what you get. The rest of us might not, but we're stuck with you old fucks until you whither away and we can throw your collective asses in the furnace.

Finally, for all who care, the Gonzo documentary is simply phe-nominal. They did a great job covering the 60s and 70s part of his life. They got everyone, even Pat Buchanan, to come on and say a few words. I recommend it to all HST fans and those who are just yearning to seek knowledge.

Let's Take A Trip

I know, I know, it's been some time since I posted, but I am adjusting to life without a job and living in Houston. This usually means getting the apartment settled, going to Astros games, playing XBox 360 and watching Battlestar Galactica.

On some days, however, there are other things that I am able to do. Now you have to understand something before this post goes on, Dews has an unhealthy obsession which has infected many other of our people in the Nation's capital. They want one thing and are ready to take time off of work to drive an hour or two just to get it...

Oh, what could this be, what is this strange setup here in southeast Texas?

Open till midnight or later? 99 cent shakes right now? WTF is this thing called Tots? Why it could only be...

Ah yes, Sonic Drive In, Dews' achilles heel. The food he would walk over scorched earth and kiss A-Rod's baby to get to. The food that he and almost everyone else in DC is dying for right now. What am I doing here, well it's hard to miss them in Houston, they're EVERYWHERE you want to be.

Oh, look at this, it's some Sonic food that has found its way into my car. I wonder how it got there? Perhaps I should just throw this away, take one for the team cause if they can't eat it, why should I?

That would be downright ridiculous, and look at this food. How could any red blooded American throw away something so tasty? Yes, that is a vanilla milk shake with a big bacon cheeseburger on texas toast.

MMMMMM, I know whose milkshakes bring me to their location, delicious. Dews, SayHey, want some? Oh, damn, the closest ones to you are over an hour away.

I guess everyone is just going to have to move to Houston if they want any of this flavor, and it is mad flavor at that. Add to the fact that I live right next to Minute Maid Park, and I do mean right next to. Here is the view from our loft.

But now I must go to HEB, which is supposed to be a superb store, but maybe not as superb as SPECS which you all must see to know. A giant liquor store, with smokes and cigars and many other various items. Oh, you could take a date there and get sloshed with the amount of free samples they have. But I digress, must shower, perhaps I'll grab sonic on the way home....

Prospects and Community Involvement

I have no idea why I titled this the way I did, it was just the first thing that came to mind. So it's been a slow week here on LSWTF, I don't know if it's holiday weekend hangover or if we have just covered everything there really is to cover so far in the month of February. I mean we are arguing over which cereal is better, that is how far we have fallen.

So this week I've been working toward CityCat's and my move to Houston, more specifically finding us a place to live. I believe I have done just that with Lofts at the Ballpark. The beautiful thing about this place is of course that it is literally a block away from Minute Maid Park, which I am sure will help everyone here come and visit us more often.

The location looks beautiful and it is next to Warehouse Live and Lucky's Pub as well as the ballpark so we shouldn't be too bored moving to Houston. The added bonus was what I just found as I was browsing various establishments within the city.

I came across Flying Saucer Draught Emporium which apparently CityCat has been to many times and approves whole heartedly at the awesomeness of said beer vendor. The pluses in my mind is that one, it looks like a higher end Dr Dremos, and two that it has Flying Dog on tap. Yes, I managed to find an actual bar that sells MY beer on tap, this is nothing short of Ah-Mazing. Lucky's looks awesome as well, but they will never EEEEEEEEEEVER be as awesome as the Flying Saucer until they get Flying Dog on tap as well.

I'm sure everyone else on the blog feels like I do, why isn't February over yet? It's the shortest month and yet it feels like it has been going on for ages now. It is literally sucking the life out of each and every one of us. The only one who seems to have life is CityCat, but that is only because she has defeated Lou and become a Rock God.

So if you haven't been keeping track, Obama continues to roll over Hilary who may get the nomination regardless because of the money that is behind her, and when I say money I mean super delegates who are whores and will take what they can get from her. Teams are beginning to franchise players, which has ruined any dream I had of Albert Haynesworth being a Brown next year. SayHey's teams continue their free fall of corruption, sad to think it all began with a video and a shopping trip. We draft our baseball teams Sunday night, be prepared for possibly a live blog of our draft since the majority of us will be at Petco Park East.
