Good stuff happens on Tuesdays

And I have some proof. First off, news out of the Congo that primatologists have found nearly 100,000 lowland gorillas no one knew existed. I say this is great news first because these gorillas have been on the brink of extinction since the middle-1980s. I got my undergraduate degree in anthropology, and if I hadn't been seduced by the glamour and money (both of which I'm still waiting for) of a career in the law, I'd have gotten my Ph.D in primatology. This is a tremendous find because we still tons to learn about our physiological make-up as well as how our brains function. Finding more of our evolutionary relatives is a big deal.

Next, a victory for my favorite technological innovation: DVR. A U.S. Court of Appeals (I think 1st Circuit, but this article is basically crap) overruled a district court's decision that prevented Cablevision from offering its customers "network DVR," a remote DVR system that would eliminate the need for an in-home DVR set up. This could allow the DVR technology to become available to more homes, and hopefully also make it cheaper.

Aside from apes, monkeys, and the law, I also dig not having to arrange my schedule around when a network decides to air my favorite shows. I have been things to do Monday-Friday than sit down and watch television. TV is entertaining, but should be relegated to those times when one is hungover and can't do much else but stay stationary. DVR allows me to be entertained when sitting on my couch on Saturday mornings, as opposed to watching re-runs of Mythbusters. And that is why it is the most important technology of this century.

Testicular Tuesday Truthiness

I have to start today off with a video that should embarrass any resident of the state of West Virginia. New state motto should be ignorance and prejudice for all.

The other news of the day is one that I will speak on more this afternoon, but needless to say Dews, myself and I'm sure many others have now left the Libertarian Party.

Actually, I agree with Rahm on this one. Never in the history of the world has a conquering nation been held "morally accountable" to repair the damage they've done to the loser. You better start noticing where the wind if blowing Mr. Abdulsalam, we won't be there long and you'll be SOL.

Ironically, if we wanted to become mercenaries we probably have a way in to become one of these moles. Thankfully, almost all of us here at LSWTF.com love this country and do not support this type of police state policy.

Who knew John McPOW was into voodoo? Just another attempt to secure some votes in Louisiana.

Yesterday was Memorial Day, and as a veteran myself I figured I'd allow some other vets to get a few words in edge wise. All I know is that is one of the best non-Onion headlines I've ever seen.

It is time to declare Joe Liberman a Section 8 and remove him from his office.

So you know that speech of how Obama cannot compete against McPOW? Yeah, that's a bunch of bullshit apparently. Perhaps those folks who think McPOW is winning are only asking folks in West Virginia.

I think I've seen this L&O SVU episode before. Eventually we will understand that every sex crime state happening by Western foreigners in a foreign land is VASTLY underreported.

On a lighter note, this is a great parody of There Will Be Blood. The only thing missing was it wasn't staring Bob Sagget.

Much like Great White and Slaughter, McPOW and Dubya just can't draw like they used to.

At least whatever mind altering disease Liberman has contracted is not contagious. This reminds me Giuliani's kids not voting for their father.

Tuesday Testicular Truthiness

We begin today with a story about a man who obviously has his priorities in order. Much thanks to ThursdayNext for the heads up.

Jonah Goldberg wants to hear from you about what Bush's possible legacy will be. I don't care about the wars, wire tapping, or the immense growth of the federal government. To me he'll still be the man who traded Sammy Sosa while he owned the Rangers.

The Republicans have gone corporate (well even more so) in an attempt to rebrand the Republican Party. Reasons to Believe is apparently their slogan, but I don't know if they're vying for the elections in November or that the new X-Files movie isn't too late for anyone to care anymore.

Senator Palpatine is told that Iraqi soldiers don't want a Republican elected as President. His response is to inform them that they cannot vote in our election. Very well done sir, just bypass the part of them wanting us our of THEIR country and let them know that they have no say in this Republican War. The craziest thing about their comment? They understand this war better then almost half this country does.

This is for CityCat, baby they're making a Fraggle Rock movie.

Today is the West Virginia primary and no one believe Obama has a chance in hell. How could he have a chance? The folks who live there fuck their sisters and think the South won the war.

Finally another teacher has been busted though it is a bit ridiculous since he was of legal age. Props to the student, not only does he get a hot teacher, he gets one just in time to do beer runs for the summer.

Tuesday Blog Round Up

Handy tips for anyone who comes across the Faux News Gestapo from our buddy KO. I would love to be ambushed by these jackoffs, it would be a promo the likes that hasn't been seen since The Rock threw the IC Title off a bridge.

Perhaps Clarence Thomas just fills the one nut job spot on the Supreme Court that has been in place since Chief Justice Rehnquist. Gotta love a man who wishes to send us all back in time seventy years and is afraid of progress.

The Right Wing Blogs have chosen their five favorite people in the world. I am shocked that BillO wasn't higher, but then again fifty and sixty year olds tend not to be on the intertubez.

This is the kind of shit that wakes me up in the middle of the night. Perhaps I over react, but there is no way this should be allowed in this country.

Great, isn't this the kind of news you love waking up to? If you don't believe that corporations are pulling strings in Congress then you must have your eyes welded shut.

We have some Phillies fans here so here is special top ten list for them to say to a Mets fan, if there are any.

Just continuing proof that "Yankees fans" will buy anything with the logo on it. I can't wait to watch them lose in the first round when A-Purse chokes once again.

Tuesday Blog Round Up

I will always be one to support a noble cause.

I for one would be willing to support an idea like this all across America.

Two months ago O'Hackery gave Iraq two months, two months later he hasn't made the same claim. I wonder if wants another extension like the Administration.

What kind of cold-hearted bastard do you have to be to take insurance away from children?

I know many of you want us to talk to the right, to try to compromise and not take things over using their methods. Well, when people support the idea of the Nuclear option when it comes to Iraq I think you can no longer discuss anything with these people. They also want to declare Dubya King, and unlike the first George President, this one likely wouldn't turn it down.

The deadline has come and gone, and the Administration still has their fingers in their ears making a nanananana sound.

Tsk Tsk Mr. Thompson, not even officially in the race yet and you have a FEC complaint against yourself.

The only difference between these bunch of nuts and radical Islamic extremists? One has a stage and pyro, the other has weapons. I wish I was kidding, but it's true. They both want the same thing, their specific type of religion to rule over all. It's assholes like this that made me have a problem with religion, pax romana!

AT&T, ya fucked up, now you've pissed off your shareholders.

I think I speak for many when I say, keep showing Elizabeth Kucinich she's the best part of the debates.

Who ever spent time designing this deserves some kind of medal!

Miss Chatter has returned from vacation.

Tuesday Blog Round Up

Book of Scrap is having a contest, the who has the hottest wife/girlfriend in sports. I give this to you, even if I have my reservations since Eliza Dushku isn't even on the list.

Apparently Conservative Bloggers don't like it when people call out the fact that they are as dumb as a sack of hammers.

A comic for people like Anita who majored in Philosophy.

As usual, Glenn Greenwald does a wonderful job painting us the picture of the fear that encompasses the right wing blowhards who are so scared of Islam.

My Canadian Household watches Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. Erin was kicked off tour this week and has said she has had better then Brett. Apparently better is none other then Mr. Urlacher.

In the effort to once again force a communist sport upon us, Team USA will play Brazil at Soldier Field, live on ESPN 2. Sounds like a great idea right? Should get a lot of folks to come watch de futbol? Sadly, no, since it is going to be played on NFL's Opening Day.

Ookie is now the only man standing, in other words he's frelled.

Perhaps Rove is leaving to go home and pack his bags since he very well may be spending time behind metal poles.

Finally, Monkey has to take some tool to school to explain to him the difference between fascism and socialism.
