Trinidad Out Of Retirement

A fight that was supposed to take place in 2001 is finally going to happen. Don King announced that Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr are going to be fighting most likely Jan. 26 at New York's Madison Square Garden.
"We just made this fight. It's a fight made in boxing heaven,"
...
"We're gonna start the year off with a bang."

I personally like Trinidad as a fighter, especially when he beat De La Hoya in 1999. Sadly though, both of these fighters are far from their prime and just goes to show how desperate boxing is to revitalize a sport that has taken a serious hit from the MMA world.

When they have to pull a Trinidad/Jones fight out of their ass, then their collective ass is in the fire. They have great fights, but it is at the lower weights. Sadly most of the public does not care about the small fighters, they've almost always only cared about the Heavyweight division. Until they can find someone who can restore interest there and stop using Russian Circus Bears to attempt to get interest, it won't bring the sport back.
