YO JOE! COBRALALALALALA!

Well, we finally have a step in the right direction and by right direction I mean we at least have a director. True it's the guy behind The Mummy and Van Helsing which means the GI Joe movie could go a couple of ways.

He's known to take a premise and, well, let's just say stretches it. I know we all worry about Snake Eyes becoming an actual Snake, Destro having a Vader moment with the helmet, and Roadblock sounding like something from a Blaxploitation movie. Though he usually gets good (enough) actors to work on his project so there is some hope. I for one am glad it is happening sooner rather then later, SGT Slaughter isn't getting any younger.

Then again, this is listed on the Joe's Wiki page
As per an article in Variety [5] the G.I. Joe film has been turned into an international spy film. "While some remember the character from its gung-ho fighting man '60s incarnation, he's evolved. G.I. Joe is now a Brussels-based outfit that stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer. The property is closer in tone to "X-Men" and James Bond than a war film." Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing) has been helmed to direct.

I can see it going that way, a team of Bonds fighting a team of the Brotherhood of Mutants. With that in mind, the question of the day is, who would be the characters you first introduce in this film? I suppose I should start

GI JOE
Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Flint, Lady Jaye, Roadblock, and either Shipwreck or Beachhead

COBRA
Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Zartan, Major Blood, and BATS

Just as long as there is no "Serpento".

That whole "Collecting DNA from all the great generals" group of episodes were fun as a kid and all, but the end result was a god damn failure.

cept he did end up almost killing Duke though I guess... That episode still haunts my childhood from the cartoon blood from taking snake spear thingie to the chest.

I am fairly certain they'd have to change Shipwrecks look though, to avoid the whole "Village People" look a like contest.

Cobra Commander did turn into a snake though. hmmmmm

Shipwreck is one of the OG's. Gotta have him.

To bad Sgt Slaughter was a late add on in the series. But how cool would it be seeing the Warthog in action.

See, I think you have Slaughter still be the trainer drill sergant. Focus on say Flint and say Lady Jaye being the young one joining the team and slaughter training them.
