Prince hates babies

To further express just how much I hate corporate thuggery (and probably trigger another heated debated with some other members of this blog), we have yet another great example of the bloated, out-of-control, psychosis that apparently drives the music industry.

A mother's home movie of her 18 month old dancing to the tune of Prince's "Lets go Crazy" was deemed a copyright infringement by Universal Music Publishing Group and as such had to be removed from Youtube and the 28 friends and family members that apparently watched that video, rather then going out and buying the album (which is what they're trying to encourage right?).

Thankfully... It doesn't end there!

The woman contacted the Electronic version of the ACLU, the EFF, or Electronic Frontier Foundation (my heros!)!
She contacted a leading cyber rights legal organization called the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and filed a civil lawsuit against the music publisher, claiming they were abusing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by sending out reams of what are known in the industry as "take down notices" to Web sites like YouTube, claiming their artists' copyrights had been infringed upon -- when in fact, sometimes they may not have been at all.
This is indeed a great day for me to hear this, but a bit surprised to Learn that Prince is apparently insane:
A well-placed source directly involved in the situation confirmed to ABC News that Prince was directly involved in seeking the takedown of Lenz's video.
Interesting stuff... Prince, an extremely sexually provocative artist throughout his career, is threatened by an 18-month old dancing to one of his songs...

Phrases like "hung like an infant" come to mind immediately here...

Its ok Prince, confidence is key. Chicks dig confidence. And, I think they got pills for your "other" problem.

We all knew that Prince is insane. Call me crazy, but I dont think he has a single shred of talent to begin with. Purple Rain my ass!!

Its funny though, this person does have a legit case. Lenz's video was not being distributed for profit and an intent for profit. To me, this is like going to a concert and having a band cover another song. Its all in good fun and enjoyment.

RIAA will suffer, yet another, black eye for this. But i dont think they care much.

Prince is damn talented, specially at playing guitar. I doubt he had anything to do with this and it may be the RIAA trying to justify their actions by saying it's the artists who want to protecct their work, which has been their bullshit reasoning the entire time.
