Huckabee unstoppable?

Granted I started writing about Huckabee as the interesting former Governor that was speaking his mind about several topics that I quite honestly was shocked to hear any politician say in public, but it seems that every time I look at the news now he's gained so much traction in his campaign that he has "pulled to within a single percentage point of Hillary Clinton in a general election match-up."!!!
Today, in the first full round of national polling completed since last week’s “debate” among Republican Presidential hopefuls, Huckabee has pulled to within three points of the frontrunning Rudy Giuliani. Heading into the debate, Giuliani led Huckabee by twelve.
Really is shaping up to be a fascinating primary on the GOP side between the Cyborg Romney, Cross-dresser Rudy and now the seemingly unstoppable Huckabee. Should at the very least provide us political geeks some much needed entertainment after watching the Hillary/Obama "He's looking at me, ya but he's on my side of the seat!" childish crap.

Ideally I'd love to watch an Edwards vs Huckabee election though, given the wild-card nature of both those candidates, but I guess beggars can't be choosers :).

Has anyone else picked up on the fact that Huckabee's ascent so far is like a bizzaro-world version of the West Wing? Reverse EVERYTHING about Jed Bartlett and you get Huckabee, but otherwise the story of a Governor rising from more or less nowhere because people are attracted to his honesty beating out a slick professional politician who, by common reasoning, ought to be the nominee holds true.

Long setence, my bad. I think my head just exploded.

It definitely seems to make for a far more interesting election to have a dark horse get so much steam going into New Hampshire and Iowa, so thats the most fascinating part of it to me.

Don't count McCain out yet. He may be the only real Republican left in that group which may speak volumes to Republican primary voters who aren't evangelical.

McCain is getting his just desserts for turning into a politician...

The amount of evil nasty political smears that were run against him in South Carolina was horrendous, especially to see him turn around and support the prez that made it happen afterwards...

He's made his bed, he can lie in it now.

Shane knows I am as anti-McCain as they get so this could be a shock to him; but I agree with him.

I do have faith in a candidate who has no intention on using the White House as a pulpet. Lets hope that Iowa shares the same views.

EXACTLY; Hence why I do not like McCain one bit. He transformed from a respected War veteran Senator who opposed Dubya into his lap dog bitch.
