Step One Complete

Phil Savage and the Cleveland Browns have apparently reached a deal with Jamal Lewis that will keep him in Cleveland for at least the next two years.

I never thought I would see the day where I was happy and it involved Jamal Lewis in some fashion. Step one is complete, now to get the deal with Derek Anderson done (and rumor has it that it is very close to being so) and then we can look at the combine and free agency.

In other news Marcus Trufant and Nnamdi Asomugha apparently both have received the Franchise tag. It's interesting to see teams use the Franchise tag this year, they had been holding off these last few years but they are beginning to get more protective. Of course it helps everyone when you keep a player at the top five average salary and not being released onto the market where he likely will cause that number to rise, good for all involved.
