Vermont Catamounts Update

For a team with no scholarships, the spring recruiting period can be a pretty boring time. Fans that are hungry for information scour websites for just a little bit of news on their favorite teams and usually come up with nothing.

That was the case for fans of the University of Vermont basketball team this spring until word leaked out a week ago that redshirt center Kyle Robbins was transferring! Oh what glorious news! A project with little to no hope of becoming anything useful for the Catamounts was leaving!? Incredible! Awesome!

The news means that the Cats now have an open scholarship to use to lure in either a talented high schooler that has slipped through the cracks or a transfer from another college who is looking for greener pastures.

The rumor recently has been that Junior to be point guard Pierre Curtis, 10 points and 4.2 assists per game for James Madison last year, had interest in continuing his career in the Green Mountain state. Well its not a rumor anymore.

Curtis is on campus today checking out what the University of Vermont has to offer. If he decides on UVM it could have huge ramifications on the future of the program, but thats a discussion for if he actually does commit. So good luck to the coaching staff and congratulations to the fans of the best team in college basketball, you now have some exciting news!
