Words cannot express how proud I am right now of my home state and judges who read law more then let their personal beliefs override what is on the books. Sadly some bigots have already begun to push for an amendment banning same sex marriages.
A coalition of religious and social conservative groups is attempting to put a measure on the November ballot that would enshrine laws banning gay marriage in the state constitution.I just can't understand folks sometimes, they hate they have for things that are merely...different. They love to use religion and the bible, but then it gets into Old Testament and what it says and doesn't say which is followed and not followed yada yada yada.
The Secretary of State is expected to rule by the end of June whether the sponsors gathered enough signatures to qualify the marriage amendment, similar to ones enacted in 26 other states.
If voters pass the measure in November, it would overrule the court decision.

I never understood the total reliance on the Old Testament by fundy Christians. Jesus is the point, and for Christians, shouldn't the OT be, I dunno, just really interesting backstory?
I just love how they pick and choose which OT things to follow, I don't see anyone sacrificing lambs lately.
I bet they work on the Sabbath. I've heard of no stonings recently. And I swear if I see someone eating a cheeseburger, I'll blow a gasket.
If I see a fundy eating scallops, I will stone them to death. Supreme court will probably uphold that as valid too knowing their record...
I'd actually be shocked if the court actually heard the case
