Humble Pie Hangover

To be honest, im shocked that this topic hasnt been "tackled" yet. That being the end of Tom Brady's season. For the record though, I am not a Tom Brady hater. I think he is an absolute talent and hands down the best player in the NFL. But its those fans that make me get down on me knees and pray for a Godsend of an injury like this one. I wish I could see the look of joy and satisfaction on CityCat's face right now, for her vision has finally become a reality.

But for me, only one thing comes to mind when I watch the replay of that fateful hit....."Applesauce, Bitch".

This officially ends my fantasy season, more then likely.

CityCat's problems with Brady are as follows.

Leaving the mother of his child while preggers.
Being a shill for the Bush Administration.
Acting like he's the second coming

Go fuck yourself, SayHey. Honestly, cheering an injury. What in the fuck is wrong with you? And no, you're not a Brady-hater, you just think he's a douche bag. Wait, you wrote "deutch bag," which can only mean you think Tom Brady is one of zee evil Germans. Ignorant fuck. Your entire attitude to this reminds me of the "Israel" from Henry Rollins' "A Rollins in the Wry," about six and a half minutes in. At least we haven't had to read one of your intolerably retarded MLB Power Rankings in a while, thankfully.

Dews said...

I'd say this was bad karma for SayHey, but not really sure how he could be struck down QB wise...

Cassel looked "OK" though. Maybe if not him then Simms or Culpepper are available.

Steve said...

I don't see how people can be happy about an injury.

The best part of winning is knowing that you beat the best to get to the top...

This injury just means the quality of play in the NFL will go down this year and whoever wins didn't really face everyone's best. There's no added pride in victory over a decimated team...why anyone is happy with this makes no sense to me.

SayHey Kid said...

Jesus Xrist calm yourself. I know exactly how it feels to go through injuries. Hello...NINER FAN!! I lost Montana AND Young you fucking twat.

My God, brush away the sand from your vagina's and relax. Im not celebrating the injury (although im not going to lie and say im distraught about it). His loss most certainly hurts the league and changes the entire AFC outlook.

And go fuck YOURSELF Dewey; you self righteous, arrogant, COCKSUCKER! Its shitty, closed minded fans like you that make sports talk intolerable

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

I wonder if you protested this much when Eagles fan cheered Michael Irvin almost breaking his neck.

The saddest people of all in this is the NFL, for now they now longer have two regular season Favre Brady match ups and the annual Pats Colts game is nothing special.

Feels like when the Niners Cowboys game became Quincy and Rattay.

SayHey Kid said...

No shit Gonzo.

I swear Dewey, you are such a hypocrite.

SayHey Kid said...

Side note- Im happy as hell you hated my MLB Power Rankings. Means I obviously knew what I was talking about. Thank you!!

Steve said...

"Im not celebrating the injury"

"But its those fans that make me get down on me knees and pray for a Godsend of an injury like this one."

hmmmmm...?

Unless im taking your post completely the wrong, and I'm sure everyone else took it the way I did...Looks like you are happy about the injury.

If you're mad at the fans for being happy about winning all the time and this is the best way you can get back at them...well..I'm glad you're not a Pats fan.

SayHey Kid said...

Oh, trust me I know what how it feels to be a fan of a winning team. Last I checked, we have a 5-0 Superbowl record. Oh, and we didnt get busted for cheated.

And perhaps I am alittle satisfied that this happened. This will finally test New Englands so called "life long, Pre-Tom Brady" Patriot fanhood. Niner fan may have it bad now, but at least we stick with our team through the good and bad.

SayHey Kid said...

Errr, busted for cheating........I know how anal Dewey is with grammar. He is just as bad about calling me out than a 60 year old highschool English teacher.

My apologies for being to quick of a typer.

Jimmie Perkins said...

Not to be picking on you Say Hey but didn't you sell out your beloved Niners for the Redskins just to save your rights to raise you kids as Giants (baseball) fans. Typical Giants fan, tisk tisk.

SayHey Kid said...

I never sold out my Niners......my fiance' and I made a deal in which I would not trash talk the Redskins in return, our kids would be raised SF Giants fans.

I still think I got the better end of that deal.

Jimmie Perkins said...

And on the topic, us Charger fans do not celebrate injuries to other teams players but I will say that this makes playing the Patriots this year a little more hopeful than past endeavors.

Jimmie Perkins said...

Funny, she isn't even a sportsfan really. You should slip a clause in the prenup. Fine print.

SayHey Kid said...

Well, the Bronco's sure celebrated when they turned Stan Humphrey's brain into tapioca pudding all those years ago.

I'm sure Charger fan (along with Brown fan) would riot in the streets if they broke Cutlers hip.

Just don't give me this, "holier than thou" fan mentality. If your rival gets hurt, you would celebrate. 'nuff said

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

How are those 16-0 Chargers by the way?

Not gonna lie, if Elway was ever hurt I would have celebrated like none other.

SayHey Kid said...

Hey, I'm working on her fanhood. She watched both the 1pm and 4pm games with me on Sunday. Thats a good start!

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

Cutler is overrated, and we don't care about him. We HATE Elway, probably the only player we could say that about since the Modells don't play

SayHey Kid said...

Charger fan is better off with Merriman hitting the IR and that 0-1 record is a lesson learned. Derrick Smith is going to roll over folks in his stead!!

Steve said...

Stop making generalities about the New England fan base.

Just because you are a die hard San Fran fan doesn't mean the rest of them are.

The first year I was able to remember the Patriots at all, they went 1-15...I didn't care I was still a fan. I've been through ups and downs since then...Zolak, Bledsoe, Slade, Jefferson, Martin, Glenn...ect.

While the last 8 years have been good the Pats, its hasn't always been great. This is first success the franchise has ever had to really build a true fan base. How can you be mad that the team developed a new generation of fans?

Watch us sell out the rest of the year and get higher ratings than the 49ers...

SayHey Kid said...

You went to a Super Bowl in 1985 and in 1996. Its not like NE has had a history of bad decades.

Look at Browns fan; never won anything and their fan base is unbreakable and has been for 30 years. Thats true fanhood and not bandwagon. Side Note- Slade graduated from my highschool 2 or 3years before my freshman year. He was a tremendous talent.

As for ratings, that is a low blow. At least we have a perfect super bowl record. So much for those Joe Montana vs. Tom Brady comparisons.

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

Steve, I don't know if you've been a part of this explanation or not, but let me explain where this hate towards the Pats comes from.

The Patriots have become the Yankees of the NFL in a sense. No one outside of the New England area cared for the Pats before they begun winning Super Bowls. Now you have "fans" everywhere, much like people all over the country love the Yankees cause they win. It's the same thing you see with the hate towards the Red Sox. It's not the folks who live in the area, it's those outside the are that didn't care about baseball until the Sox finally won again. They then act like they've always been fans but couldn't tell you who Carlton Fisk is.

It happens every decade, in the 90s it was the Cowboys and Bulls. The 80s it was the Lakers. Your teams are successful and thus you get hate from other die hard fans due to the douche bags around the country.

SayHey Kid said...

Well said Gonzo

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

Wow wow wow, before there was a 72 Dolphins the Browns were going undefeated.

We also have the honor of having the greatest running back of all time.

SayHey Kid said...

He still looks like he could play.

Dews said...

SayHey, you ARE celebrating an injury here, you can't snipe and then claim no foul. You said your peace on Brady and made it pretty clear you are happy about it, so you can't hide behind some "Neutral" stance now.

That being said, stick to your guns, cause Pats fans certainly do not agree with you, nor (obviously) enjoy the gloating over Brady's injury. I'll be the first to admit I've wished ill of a few players, but it didn't matter totally what team they played for (Irving and Deion come to mind here).

I'm not gonna begin to compare Pats fans and the "sox nation cult" though, as there just isn't enough history yet for Pats, except they've gone through some amazingly bad seasons before finally becoming THE Franchise to mimic.

PS, undefeated in the superbowl stat, really not all that impressive to me, I gotta admit. Before its all said and done Brady will go down as probably the best big game QB of all time.

SayHey Kid said...

I do recall changing my position and saying yes, perhaps I am celebrating this injury. Next time read the comments.

As unimpressive of a stat the super bowl record is, its not nearly as bad as viewer ratings. That nice zinger Steve threw at me earlier.

Dewey, Cheatem, & Howe said...

Said SayHey: "It[']s not like NE has had a history of bad decades." You've got to be kidding me. I've seen enough meaningless seasons and teams that someone could mistake me for a SF Giants fan.

Regarding Irvin and the Eagles: frankly, no, I didn't celebrate. I don't quite understand hating dominant players just because they were dominant. I hate the Yankees because I'm a Red Sox fan. I hate Peyton Manning because the Colts used to kill it in the AFC East. Other than that, I'm no SayHey. SayHey is celebrating an injury to a guy who has no connection to his team, other than the New England Patriots have been the polar opposite of the Niners in recent years.

Regarding the use of language: in my opinion, if you can't consistently string nouns and verbs together to form coherent sentences, you probably have no business writing or speaking. Unlike everyone else here, SayHey, you have the unique ability to fuck up the use of the English language on a regular basis. Sometimes, you're not even close. You appear to have the same basic competence in English as an English-as-a-second-language student. And at least they're trying to get better.

I don't know what your problem is with New England sports, SayHey. I think you're just a hater, and a bad one at that. You vascillate when called out, and that's simply sad. I again refer you to that "Israel" track from Henry Rollins, about six and a half minutes in; it's a perfect mimic of your attitude. And don't call me a hypocrite again; from your use of the word, I doubt you know what it means or if you know me enough to toss that label around.

Oh, and go fuck yourself.

SayHey Kid said...

You may attack me all you want. Your desperate and you reak of it. Butcher the English language? I may not be a perfect writer or blogger but I never present myself as such. Sure, we all have flaws. Well, except you since you are by FAR the MOST smug and arogant asshole I have ever encountered. I have encountered plenty in my lifetime. And for you to attack me personally is a discrace and you should be embarresed because of it. You are a fucked up, disturbed little child. I cannot believe you have resorted to personal attacks, far from the scope of this discussion.

And you are most certainly a hipocrite. You reak of it!!

And by the way, you go fuck yourself as well sir. You are truly pathetic.

It is a weird day and age when being a "fan" of sports can lead into these types of arguments.. When's the last time Tom Brady or Joe Montana had a beer with one of us.. or watched some TV with one of us.. Never.. It's not like we know professional athletes on a personal level.. They get paid millions of dollars to entertain us.. not for us to like them on a personal level. Injuries happen all the time especially in football.. I, as well as probably everyone on the blog, as wished ill on an opposing player or someone on a team they don't like.. I mean.. thats sports.. you want your team to be the best team there is.. But to bring it to a personal level.. I listen to SayHey and Dews argue all the time about Baseball and they can get pretty heated.. and there's really no reason for it.. A) because both the O's and the Giants suck and B) because sports are for entertainment not to bitch at each other.. It's ok to argue and root for your team.. but don't take it to a personal level.. I guess thats my point.. But I have a tour.. So I'll leave it at that

Jimmie Perkins said...

Yeah, I don't want to see Cutler carted off in injury. I would rather see him hang his head in defeat after getting beat on the field, while Rivers mocks him from the sideline. There is something more satisfying about that. As to Humphries, Young, Gannon, Trent Green, etc - yeah having a serious concussion (had one) is not just fun but permanently debilitating. I wish that on no one. And you do seem to get juiced about people getting hurt, it is bad karma. That is my dos centavos. J. Uno Nueve.

Jimmie Perkins said...

Modews,

Save the Rodney King speech for some other time. This Blog war is entertaining.

Dews said...

Niners were the bandwagon team of the late 80's early nineties, so if anything you all should be getting along better having seen this come full circle already.

Teams are like economic cycles, high points, depressing low points, then mediocre recession times. It is supposed to be a lesson in humility and a reminder not to call out another one's team when its down because you should know full well Montana or Young or Brady isn't going to play forever.

Regardless, we need a steel death cage match setup like now :)

Steve said...

Nice mocking of my ratings comment...it was to point out that the Patriots fans aren't going to abandon the team, as you seem to think they will, because their best player went down.

You're happy about an injury because of your jealousy towards the Patriots success and your longing for the 49er glory days. That's sad...

The only way to actually feel good about your team is beat the best (and congrats to the Giants for doing it). That's the entire spirit of competition. Winning a championship in a league that's without a top player on a top team takes away some of luster of the accomplishment.

Rooting for or being happy about an injury just makes you seem pathetic.

Steve said...

And, being a Sox fan...I know all about hating the Yankees. Thats why 2004 was so sweet because we went through them to win the world series. It wouldn't have felt as good if we hadn't met in the ALCS.

SayHey Kid said...

This war of words is over. I swear I feel like im in high school with all of this crap. As much fun as I am having, its time this nonsense ends. We are grown men.

I find it funny that if Bonds went down that none of you Red Sox fans wouldn't break my balls. Its called sports and injuries occur and I can take it. Hell, I lost Montana and Young and you know what, life goes on. Get over it and quite whining like a children.

I respect Brady and his talent, but Deweys complete lack of respect toward me has me enjoying this more and more.... more than I should be.

Oh, and knock the Giants all you want. Im used to it and it doesn't bother me one bit. We have been bad for 6 years, whats another few more.

Jimmie Perkins said...

Say Hey, you are right! If Bonds when down we would all throw a party because HE IS A BIG FAT CHEATER (and a racist) and no one likes him except Giants fans. He is a stain on the game and I guess we will never get to celebrate him blowing out his knee during a game because no team will sign him. I can't believe you even brought his name into this thread.

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

Bonds=Hitler? hmmmm

SayHey Kid said...

Proves my point Perkins

Everyone would get great joy if some great player in any sport got hurt. This includes every member of this blog.

Bonds didnt murder 6 million Jews. Sorry Gonzo but that is a bad comparison.

Jack Gonzo, MD said...

It was in reference to Godwin's law

SayHey Kid said...

Rough law.....

Dews said...

I don't mind Bonds...

I would kinda like it for the collusion to be over so he could essentially flip off "Bud-Light" and hit another 200 homers before finally retiring.

SayHey Kid said...

Im indifferent about him coming back, although I would get great satisfaction if he went to the Saux or Yanks

Giants might be bad but the focus is on the Giants for the first time in years. It truly is a post-Bonds era in SF. We have some good talent but need some power. Once we get that, who knows.....

Jimmie Perkins said...

I wouldn't mind seeing someone shatter his knee with a fastball. Unless they can make that happen, better Bitter Barry stays on his couch.

SayHey Kid said...

Your cold.....But your a Padres fan, I expect nothing less.

Cant we just agree to hate LA??
