Dews RickeyDay Rundown

(Is this worth $3.7 Million for a night?)

First I would like to add to second SayHey's notion before on congratulating the greatest of all time Rickey Henderson.

As a pseudo-fan of the late 80's Oakland Athletics (mostly for Jose Canseco though admittedly), I was able to watch the greatest of all time take bases and get into pitchers heads at-will. It was truly a sight to see.

It does hammer the point home that the baseball writers again do not deserve their votes when they have again denied someone that should have been a unanimous pick (self-righteous pricks is the term I'd go with), but they will have their final chance to prove me wrong for having no faith in them when Greg Maddux comes up in a few more years. Try giving one reason why Maddux shouldn't receive all the votes EXCEPT for the "because nobody else has" bullsh*& they've said about folks like Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn...

This just in, Jim Rice STILL shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame!

Thought I'd make sure that was out there before moving on to the news of the day...

Leading off, it seems that President Bush is trying to leave office in the typical grace of a lame-duck by playing a bit of revisionist historian. Normally this is something that's tolerable and even accepted as the country tries to ready itself for the new chief coming into town, but given the polarizing forces that are soon to be kicked out of town, it begs the question "do we owe him a graceful exit?". Do we allow Dubya to ignore the facts of his biggest mistakes in office after leading his "unitifier" campaign the way a jilted lover would have circa late 1600's Salem Mass?

"I don't know if you want to call those mistakes or not, but they were—things didn't go according to plan, let's put it that way," Bush said.
Short answer, hell no, in my humble opinion. You do not earn the right to go out in style after pushing so much divisive politics on this nation, nor should you be given the right to sweep all those things under the rug and walk away...

In "Old World" news, Bush's British butt-boy Blair appears to be on the shortlist to take over the EU.

According to EU officials and diplomats, the impressive performance of Nicolas Sarkozy, France’s president, during his six-month spell in charge of the EU last year has strengthened the hand of those who say a big name should guide the 27-nation bloc
Interesting train of thought on this anyway, in that they feel they need a "rock-star" type leader, but why keep recycling leaders that probably wouldn't win in their own country's general elections? Smacks a bit of more of an Aristocratic Parliamentary system to me...

Finally, and probably most importantly, in a story we've been following at LSWTF for a while now... Natalie Dylan 22, from beautiful San Diego has auctioned off her own virginity as a one-night-stand online in order to pay for school. Apparently Natalie's older sister was able to pay for her own schooling after working as a prostitute for three weeks...

Bidding has gotten as high now as $3.7 million dollars...

Maybe we'll need Mr. SanDiego or Noodle to chime in on this one, but are jobs so scarce in San Diego that all 20 somethings have to sell themselves in order to pay for school?

Just can't make this stuff up!

That is all...

Java & Fish Wrap 07.31.08

I woke up this morning at 5:45 central, that's 6:45 eastern for you DC folks. Now this may not seem like a big deal, but try to remember that those of us supporting those who are engaging the bar exam have averaged just as little sleep as the future lawyers of America. Mainly because our home has become Alpha base, I've become a taller Bobby Flay and have been mainlining coffee like a troglodyte in a Jersey diner. You may think the madness is over but I say nay, Texas is three days and today is the final day. Tomorrow morning we all may be say yeah, this is my new fucking hangover, all my friends got the same fucking hangover so what?! A cool thing for me though was last night getting to sit behind a legend, Ken Griffey Jr, and see him hit a monstrous shot out of the park. Then again every home run, and there were plenty last night, was a fucking bomb last night.

That being said tomorrow's edition will either be really early and under the extreme influence of alcohol or very late and subject to hangover.

If there is no sign worse then John McCain is floundering, despite bs polls, is that some Republicans appear to be voting for Obama in November.

I'm almost not in favor of this plea deal as I think it should be treated as if he was drunk when he hit the constable. Wanting him to talk to kids about the dangers of driving while talking on the cell is nice, but they'll be to busy texting on their cells to really pay attention.

Rumors of a possible change of the face of Alaskan politics continue to circulate but this reporter likes to hold on to that age ole saying, I'll believe it when I see it.

McCain's new ad attacks Obama's celebrity by likening him to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, which makes no sense unless he's trying to call Obama spoiled, rich, white trash on a path of self destruction...which could have worked during McCain's primary of 2000 but likely not now.

Obama's camp calls Ludacris' lyrics offensive in regards to certain things he calls Dubya, Hillary and McPOW in the song. I however think it's a brilliant song and don't actually see anything offensive in the song.

McCain attempts to call Obama out of touch while still believing that we should be in Iraq, mistaking countries almost DAILY, and thinking that Dubya has a good approval rating.

Though the Pudge deal to NY surprised many, and put Farnsworth in the perfect city for him, this rumor has me scratching my head even more so. Though, in the past, any trade these teams work together on works out phenomenally for both teams.

As if there wasn't enough fighting in the West Bank, apparently now they're fighting amongst themselves.

The only thing I really care about in this story is the kava, described as a mildly narcotic drink. I think Dews and I may have to take a vacation in Tonga in the future.

Stop the presses, the champ is here in Houston some time today. Of course it's nothing public, but hey I don't get to see politicians all the time anymore.

Watching the game last night was a bit surreal. At one point in the bottom of the first some heckler screamed at JR, "When are you gonna retire?!" I can report that Griffey responded with three fingers.

Well, never say I never said Dubya never did anything right during his Presidency.

Metered Broadband sounds almost as disgusting to me as a Furry Shieza video.

Dear christ, just when you thought the Astros bullpen couldn't get worse they went and traded for LaTroy Hawkins.

Sony may bite with a spin-off of Spidey with a Venom movie, which would be fine, if they didn't completely fuck up Venom in Spiderman 3 and all.

Finally, Cheech and Chong have put their fighting to side, made up and will go on tour for the first time in over 25 years.

Gonzo's Gazebo or Only Closers Get To Drink Coffee

Good morning everyone, I've rested on my laurels far to long here in Houston. While I'm not on the vacation Dews is on, I have been on my own personal vacation more or less since I arrived in the Lone Star State due to the fact that I seem to lack employment. I so far have one lead, one BIG lead, but until that transpires I may just have to go after one of the many Lids Assistant Manager jobs I see on Craigslist.

FRC claims this may have been your last father's day pops.
Cause, as we all know once you start letting dem homisexals marry then no one needs a father, mother, dog, cat or even a set of brass balls. No more ties, bad aftershave or children cooking your burnt pancakes, that day is done and you can thank dem pillow biters for it! Yeah, just like how inter-racial marriage was going to do the exact same thing.

Lying for Jesus should be the shirt worn by the majority of Dubya's Presidential Appointees.
God agrees with me, or that's what I'm interpreting that thunder to mean outside.

The Texan Republican Committee passed a theocratic platform for 2008.
I am saddened by this since it literally happen two blocks from me and the only thing that saved them was my inability to stop laughing at what apparently looked like Sadie Hawkins dance with the amount of same outfit wearing couples I saw outside the George Brown.

Bigotry is alive and well in Pennsylvania and it's House.
Someone needs to tell sparky that not every American believes in Jesus, hell many of the founding fathers were diests not Christians and so many would have you believe. Then again I always saw more stars and bars in PA then I ever did in VA, I'm thinking ambush.

eBay will save us from a recession.
Of course that's what John McCain believes because eBay's CEO advises him on financial matters and if I was her I'd tell him the exact same thing. It makes sense, Republicans of all shapes and sizes can sell their confederate and Nazi items to others who don't have access, it could help the south after all.

Once again the administration has used executive privilege to block investigations into naughtiness.
I don't know when the Democrats of Congress are going to grow a pair of brass balls, but it needs to happen before the year is out. The constant blocking of any investigation into any wrongdoing by an administration that thinks it has ultimate power goes completely against the checks and balances the founding fathers put in place at the beginning and would make them sick to their stomachs right now.

Shaq lets Kobe know what the rest of the world is thinking.
It's true, I thought Kobe would put on a Joradn-esque type of performance against the Celtics. Instead he choked worse then Mama Cass and got completely schooled by Paul Pierce of all people. Kobe, the epitome of my of a spoiled brat, will one day have to resign himself to the fact that he can't win the big one by himself.

Dewey and CityCat should love this defense by an attorney in a trial about a porn king.
Use the community standard, excellent idea prosecution. Now allow us to show you Google's stats and what people search for. Oh, no one lives the Beaver's lifestyle anymore you ignorant frack, next case.

Once again the administration puts a halt on any plans to have any kind of oversight in Iraq.
The Army attempts to fix the clusterfuck that this administration and the previous sessions of Congress created only to be stopped by those being controlled by their corporate puppet masters. Howard Hughes was once brought before Congress on the charges of war profiteering, I wonder who in Congress in 2009 will have the pair to do the same to the CEOs of Haliburton, KBR, Blackwater and the like.

The IG makes recommendations to the DOJ that we all could figure out.
Conyers has asked Mukasey to implement them immediately. Obviously he didn't get the memo from Dubya's people that this administration will do what they want, when they want and how they want to do it since obviously no one is going to do a damn thing to stop them from doing it. Saddest thing of all, am I wrong about that last sentence at all?

The judge hearing the case about Miers' contempt asked why don't they just arrest these people.
There are many reason, I'm sure many are political, but in the end I think it comes down to one thing that they are lacking.

Finally we lost a great mind and man yesterday when George Carlin passed away. I can't seem to bring myself to write up a long, lengthy and tear gushing recount of how this man's wisdom and comedy shaped me when I first heard him. A lot of what you see today is due to men like George Carlin, a man who probably gets as much credit for LSWTF then any comedian out there. RIP Mr. Carlin, you're gonna be missed.

Maniacal Monday Truthiness

Fun weekend was had, and before the rumors start, yes I was watching Lifetime Movie Network at 2 in the morning. Why, because they were showing Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Wojas Smart Story staring Helen Hunt and Dr. Fever. This is the same case that inspired To Die For, which gave us that scene of Nicole Kidman dancing in the rain, and the story itself has always fascinated me. The most fascinating thing was that it was made in 1991 and I realized that Helen Hunt hasn't changed her hair in twenty years.

Ollie North, spreading bullshit and nonsense and still not a day served behind bars, God Bless America.

Obama is rolling out a new initiative aimed at those Christians who don't drink the Kool Aid, you know those who keep their faith and religion personal not political.

Senator Joe Biden loves to point out that the actual "appeasers" are in fact the Secretaries of Defense and State. Of course this administration is listen to what we say not watch what we do.

I know there are old law on the books, but sometimes they can be very beneficial. I know if the Sergeant-At-Arms needs any assistance there are folks in the immediate hill area who would love to introduce Rove to his own Private Guantanamo.

I know the Middle East and the West have many differences, but paying for sex apparently isn't one of them.

Bush's torture policies, screwing up one case at a time. Got this nagging feeling they care more about convictions then actually getting the right people, call me crazy but it may just be possible.

This weekend was the anniversary of Galloway versus the US Senate. This is what I miss on the Hill, something we don't see, passion.

Just a reminder that, for Dubya, this is a crusade and that God is a two timing whore.

I just wish some of these riders in DC would be courageous as this Cowboy fan.

John McPOW's Karl Rove may be the next lobbyist type person to fall from his campaign. Didn't he get the memo that being surrounded by lobbyists doesn't help all your talk of being against them?

That complete waste of space, Hans von Spakovsky, has finally removed his name from the FEC chair nomination. Which of course is awesome, since putting him in charge would have been the same as putting a pedophile in charge of a day care center.

Waxman draws another line in the sand, has now drawn so many on the House Floor that it looks like this.

Though he is on the campaign trail, Obama still finds time to fight the good fight for veterans all over America.

I'm sorry for what happened to the child, but there is no reason to get all sue happy because of a freak accident.

Finally, speaking of baseball, here's something for those ladies out there in the audience.

That's right, Bob Uecker baby.

This Year's First Absurd Legal Argument?

Apparently there is much debate right now over Bush's claim of a pocket veto on the Defense Bill that happened during the holidays.
Article I, section 7 of the Constitution says that the president must sign or veto legislation passed by Congress within ten days (not counting Sundays). If he signs it, it becomes law. If he vetoes it, then Congress can override his veto with a two-thirds majority in both houses. And if he does not sign or veto it while Congress is in session, it becomes law. But if Congress is not in session and he doesn't sign it, then it neither becomes law nor can Congress override it. The bill is dead. That's a pocket veto.

The issue comes into play because the Senate WAS in session, but the administration is attempting to claim that it sent the bill back to the HOUSE where it was originally created which wasn't in session and as such created a pocket veto. Right about now the administration looks like Gregory Hines surrounded by land-mines.

Of course the Democrats are calling bullshit on this maneuvering.
Congress vigorously rejects any claim that the president has the authority to pocket-veto this legislation, and will treat any bill returned to the Congress as open to an override vote,” said Nadeam Elshami, a spokesman for Pelosi. He said the Speaker is keeping all legislative options on the table.
Now this could end up in the courts, where it could go either way but I doubt the administration would want to fight it there as it could be too risky. I just find it amazing that once again they're trying some bullshit and expect us not to see it. I know many of us have our doubts about some of the voters out there, but enough of us have seen the kind of douchebaggery this administration and party has done the last eight years, this surely can't continue in the next election...right?

Thursday Throw Down

So I go off to a crappy Holiday party yesterday and the kids apparently ran off in the night. Well, you get what you pay for. Note to all offices, don't have your holiday parties at a buffet, especially a small one, when there are three other office parties there at the same time. Though I did pull number one in the Dirty Santa and took home a big thing of hot chocolate, go me.

Apparently the good news we've been receiving from Iraq is because the administration has stopped making the military decisions over there and did what Dubya always said he did, and listened to the Generals. Didn't they learn from Vietnam that Politicians have no business running a war, Patton wouldn't stand for this.

Apparently there was a fire in Cheney's office yesterday. Well, cause as we all know you're not guilty of shredding papers if the building simply burns.

This Republican minority has broken a record, they've filibusterd more bills then any other in the history of our country. The scary portion of that is that they're only half one through the two year session.

How can anyone take Republican campaigning serious anymore? I mean seriously, a dog groomer letter from a dog named Spike?

Apparently Huckabee isn't the only Republican candidate with someone affiliated with their campaign that has a dog killing story. What is it with all the Republican killing dogs, isn't that what serial killers do when their children?

The good news, the House passed the Open Government Act this week. The bad news is it pretty much just makes the wait weeks and not years for your request to be denied.

The years top ten quotes were released this week with Don't Taze Me Bro being number one. Nice to see Joe Biden's shot at Rudy making the list, but where is Sparta?

San Diego State's nighttime underwear run occurred this past weekend. I doubt CityCat will allow me to participate in any future University of Houston runs, guess I'll have to use that Journalistic integrity excuse.

Apparently the DoJ isn't too interested in Justice since they had zero representatives on the Hill for this testimony yesterday. It is a very tragic story, the kind of which has run rampant in Iraq and has been the least reported and most offensive non-reporting maybe in the history of this country.

Dubya may get the visit he's been dreading for years now after his folks blocked one of Ahnuld's initiatives. I can't wait till I'm driving by the Mall and Ahnuld's out there topless with camo paint on screaming, "What are you waiting for, I'm right here!!!"

Rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated...

Ahh, finally have access to a machine with internet access!

My journey through DC has been fraught with many perils, but I have survived "The Hill" complete with savage Whale monsters and am currently avoiding catastrophe amongst the Mole People of Crystal City...

Anyway, I have been away from news of most any sort (except political, you cannot escape it on the Hill), so I shall have to do a quick rundown of the events most troubling to me.

Quite honestly one of the funnier moments to me was sitting in a Bank of America watching our president say how he is going to fix delays at airports... If you haven't heard of of this, here's a snippet:

Declaring that "business as usual is not good enough for American
travelers," Bush announced at the White House a series of detailed technical
steps to reduce air traffic congestion and long delays that have left passengers
stranded and turned holiday travel into "a season of dread for too many
Americans."

Honestly I'm glad he has so much free time to think this stuff up. We have apparently hit the pinnacle of efficiency in every other aspect of our lives and how we go about business (especially foreign policy and military management). All Hail that who has allowed us to reach the zenith of our potential, President George Dubya Bush.

In more important news, the woman that was told by Southwest that she needed to change, has of course been punished in the most American way possible. She was asked to pose for Playboy for an undisclosed sum. Poor girl...

Thankfully things are getting a bit dirtier on the GOP side though to take some attention off of Option 1 Clinton and Option 2 Obama. There are targeted campaigns of phone banks telling people throughout New Hampshire and Iowa all kinds of wonderful anti-mormon things and of COURSE all camps are denying any involvement here.

Residents in New Hampshire and Iowa have received phone calls raising questions about Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, his Mormon faith and the Vietnam War-era military deferments he received while serving as a missionary in France.

(Always nice to see the "Good ole boys" play nice nice)

Oh yea, and in minor news, a whole buncha people died overseas from some weather thingie...

Your optomistic for someone goin to jail

Bernard Kerik is the former New York Police Commissioner that Dubya once wanted to make Homeland Security Chief before he appointed Skeletor. There he is in this picture with Dubya, who's pointing him out the prison he'll be spending some time in as he has just surrendered to authorities to answer to federal corruption charges.

I wonder if Dubya is telling him to keep his cot warm...that is if we had a Congress with huevos enough to investigate and charge Dubya with the various crimes he has committed since he became The Decider.

More on this story as it develops.

Friday, October 19, 2007

Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy.

So the deciderererer this week declared that if we don't stop Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities we risk World War III occurring. I kid you not, our President stated that if Iran goes nuclear World War III occurs, you know the dream he's had since he got the job.
“We got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel,” Mr. Bush said at a White House news conference, referring to a remark by the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that Israel “will disappear soon.” Mr. Bush said he had “told people that if you’re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.”

That's what we need right now, a leader who says that unless something happens we're gonna be in the greatest fight the world may have ever seen. World War I and World War II are going to be nothing compared to what we are able to do in today's world with our technology. It will also be the first true World War, if it erupts I don't know if we won't see the entire world in flames in the palm of Ares.

The situation has escalated since then as now Russia has thrown its own hat into the ring. They have signed a pact with the five Caspian Sea nations stating that if any of them are attack Russia will side with them.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia said at a summit meeting of five Caspian Sea nations in Iran on Tuesday that any use of military force in the region was unacceptable, and in a declaration the countries agreed that none of them would allow their territories to be used as a base for military strikes against any of the others.

"We should not even think of making use of force in this region," Putin said.

So Dubya in his infinite wisdom has decided to take on the world, because after all you don't mess with Texas right? We want to start shit with Iran, who has Russia on their side. Not only that, China will be on their side since China gets the majority of their oil from Iran. That hurts us since the majority of our debt comes from China. In the traditional military sense, Russia and China are our biggest threats and now Dubya has rallied them to protect Iran from the US attacking them.

So, for once, Dubya had to do some damage control over his most recent remarks.
President Bush was simply “making a point” when he stated at his press conference this week that anyone who wants to avert World War III wants to keep nuclear weapons out of Iran’s hands, the White House said today.

“The president was not making any war plans,” White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said today. “He was not making any declaration. He was making a point.”

Ah, I see, the President of the United States arguably the most powerful man in the free world was merely...making a point. I'm sorry, but stop acting like a fucking child who isn't getting his way in the supermarket. You don't need to make points, you need to be a fucking leader who has the god damn common sense not to piss into the wind. Sometimes I wish you still drank, then at least we could have something to blame all this stupidity on.

Military commanders have said they have crippled Al Queada in Iraq, not destroyed or eliminated but definitely crippled. Things are starting to look bright once again in Iraq as General Petraeus' surge and plans are showing some benefit. You however will not see this as a positive sign that maybe we can begin to bring some of the troops home. No, we all see your colors now. You want the troops in Iraq, not to stabilize or fight terror. No you plan on using those troops to attack Iran without provocation.

I'm sorry folks, what happened in 1979 is not reason. Hell, what happened ten years ago is not reason enough to go to war. This President is hell bent on sending us straight to hell on Earth and World War III and there may be no place in the world that is safe for any of us if that happens.

Dews Wednesday Issues

Ahh, another freezing day up here in basically Canada, but lets get right to the issues of the day...

We have apparently found a supercharged germ that is drug-resistant and spreading like crazy right here in the States. Not only that, but it is killing more people in the United States each year than the AIDS virus, federal health officials reported yesterday.

Little scary to think about, but I suppose this is what happens when people don't take their medication properly!!!

Southern California is apparently in worse shape real estate-wise then a lot of other parts of the country. Sales of houses have sunk another 30% this month.

Again, glad the market is still tumbling, since my return to DC may not be all that far off it seems...

Bush appears on target to make Harry Truman's numbers look positively amazing as he continues to sink in polls. Currently Bush is polling at just about 24% approval rating which really makes me want to go door to door to all those bastards that voted for him and slap them silly, since it took this long for them to finally learn their lesson.

Finally, some uplifting news out of New York City though. As part of their "Get tough on Graffiti" campaign, they've apparently rounded up a 6-year old girl for drawing with chalk on the sidewalk.

I'm sure this has something to do with Giuliani, but I can't prove it... Yet...

UPDATE: If anyone has any interest in the state of the current primary elections, Slate.com has a great scorecard running that seems to be updated daily. You can find it here

Thursday Throw Down

This post reminds me of rules on the GOE forums. Remember kiddies, experience is the only way to have knowledge which comes with age so anyone under the age of fifty is an idiot.

Mr. Comey should be right about his predictions but sadly I don't know if they actually see anything wrong with torture. Sadly the DoJ think they're the head of CTU and the CIA is as competent as Jack Bauer.

Could California voters be something good for a change? I seriously hope this works, and with the quickness, we need Al quick.

Did I wake up in a bizzaro world where Ann Coulture is supposed to be the Conservative voice of reason?! Oh, no, it's just the Today show doing their usual half assery interview as they let Ann Himmler support nuking Iran.

For once the SC does not hear a case and I agree with their decision not to. Bravo SC, I know some of you were tempted to hear it.

Clear Channel Communications is at it again this time censoring the VoteVets ad during the Rush Limbaugh show. I don't think the VV folks will take this sitting down, least I hope they don't.

Apparently the rocket that was to be Fred Thompson's candidacy has faltered at lift off. Of course the man has no passion, Dick Cheney is more alive then the overweight crypt keeper.

I've been wondering where AQI has been getting money for arms well now we know. Sadly an Iraqi who was trying to do the right thing needs asylum from us, and when are we gonna replace the problem of Maliki?

Apparently the reason Republicans weren't investigated in Alabama is because the ones investigating were the ones named. Great job there buckos, this doesn't look like dirty pool what so ever.

The White House attempts to point the finger at a company that doesn't exist. It wasn't the White House it was Red Herring.

Thursday Throw Down

What do you do when your party is hijacked from you? You leave them and join the party who is merely incompetent but not batshit crazy.

Geraldo's boyfriend, Bill'O, claim that Florida student is the biggest wimp in the US, except of course for Eli. Am I the only one who wishes they could taser Biil'O?

How can people support when he has biggots appointed in crucial positions? Too many mosques? If you ask some of us, there are too many churches period in the country that preach the gospel of hate and fear.

Apparently 44 Senators are fine throwing away a document older then the US in their war of terror. Then again they probably hope to foster the belief that we have always been at war with Eastasia.

The Pope apparently snubbed Condi in August when she asked for a meeting. Priest said they could hear Palpatine's cackling laughter all the way in Venice.

I think John Amato has summed up the RNC Chair quite nicely, what a wanker. Giving troops time with their families and out of the fire DEMEANS THEM?! Do you actually think before you speak?

You know how frightening it's getting out there, people are now devolving well known facts to dark age beliefs. If you don't know if the world is round or not then you should be get the gene pool chlorine.

It hasn't been the best week for the White House with everything that has been coming out. Sure, these things may not directly touch the WH, but they're in the same room.

Perhaps it is just MY opinion, but the Senate has more pressing matters right now then condemning an ad bought and paid for by Americans. You know what that is ladies and gentlemen, retroactive censorship, this is the road that leads towards totalitarianism.

Universal Healthcare, Bush Style?

Neatly tucked away in this USA Today article is a very interesting tidbit of information. You wouldn't see it if you were a staunch conservative since the picture of Hillary and constant tidbits of information about her would have cause your blood to have boiled over and head to have exploded by the time you got to this precious nugget:
Bush will urge Congress to join him in seeking coverage for all Americans.

"He'd like to see the larger debate begin," Leavitt said. "The very best opportunity we have may well be in the next 15 months."

Huh.

Does that make him a pinko commie, or a corporate whore? Judging by the Prescription drug benefit bill, I'm guessing the whore, but what do I know?

Monday Blog O Dome

For once Dubya didn't try to buck congress and settled for a Reagan Republican and not a right wing ideologue. All I care about is him looking into the illegal activities his predecessors were doing when it comes to voting rights and politicizing the Justice Department.

Fox censored an anti-war critic during the Emmys. My hat goes off to Sally, way to speak your mind.

The Emperor and some propaganda spewing jackass were on CNN recently talking about, well you know what they were talking about. Apparently Rep. Pence believes that if we hadn't invaded that Iraq and Iran would now be in a nuclear missile race....wow.

Greenspan, one of the true geniuses of our time has a new book coming which details the difference between Dubya and Clinton and his interactions with them. The shocking news, he declares that Iraq was about the oil.

When Rudy has aides like this asshat he begins to remind me of Dark Helmet. How many assholes we got on this ship anyway?! YO!

Support the troops indeed. How dare you say that about a fallen soldier, I wonder if this guy goes to the Westboro Baptist Church.

Senator Chuck Hagel was on Real Time Friday Night and had a tremendous interview with Bill Maher. I have to wonder if he is lining himself to run as a Vice President candidate, maybe even with the Democratic nominee.

I don't know if I've been this excited for non blockbuster movie since the director's last movie. Looks to be a great cast, fantastic writing, and definitely something worth seeing.

If this is Hill's plan, then it is clear that she has become the lap dog of an industry that is clearly broken and milking many Americans dry. Once again I move closer and closer to John Edwards.

This is the first real good news I've heard from Iraq in a very long time.

Friday Blog The Horn

Sorry everyone, it's been a busy morning at work so it took awhile to go through everything, but enjoy.

An in depth look at the Clinton Conundrum over at Burnt Orange Report. I think it is how a lot of us who pay attention to politics feel about the Senator from New York.

Hypocrisy is defined as the act of condemning or calling for the condemnation of another person when the critic is guilty of the act for which he demands that the accused be condemned. Oh Modern World, how you make me laugh so.

See, it's shit like this that makes me not eat green food. I have sharp teeth for meat, that's how mother nature designed me.

I didn't watch it, but apparently last night's speech was the worse of Dubya's tenure as President. Delusional, dementia, has he suffered multiple concussions perhaps?

I think it is official, John Edwards has earned my vote. This was a fantastic little bit, and summed everything up many of us have been saying.

Though apparently everyone and their mothers issued a statement after Dubya's speech last night. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing what those in power in Washington have to say, they're doing too little too late.

A great argument that I know many don't support but one that I do support. We cannot just wait it out till next year, this man is holding 160,000 of our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, cousins, second cousins, former college roommates hostage.

If you cannot agree with this commentary then you are truly lost. They took a golden opportunity and flushed it to forward their own agenda.

Thursday Throw Down

I think this is a wonderful website for a growing problem in Houston and around the country. The Houston We Have A Problem title is also a great touch.

Progress? We don't need no stinking progress. If I'm Pastor Death right now, I would start drinking heavily.

Judas Liberman was declared worst person in the world Tuesday on KO. Does anyone else feel the right killed Judas and replaced him with a cyborg?

I can already here the political hackery that will be said. You know, we don't run governments by polls and the like. You should though guys, last time I checked this was a place for the people by the people.

Ever wonder why some movies are rated the way they are? Well here is a top ten list of the most ridiculous reasons for a rating ever.

There are good military commanders and there is General DavP. I will say my respect for Admiral Fallon just went through the roof, the man was born to lead.

Thankfully the dems found a backbone and threw down the gauntlet. Sorry sparky, one of your fledgling lil lackeys won't get the job, you actually have to appoint someone we can actually trust.

Weds Wrap Around

At least some in Congress won't bend and haven't forgotten the lies they have been told in the past. Thankfully there also seems to be someone to vote for in Texas as well.

It appears someone is afraid of the Christian right because someone claimed not to worship Jesus. I'm right with her on this one, suck it Jesus.

At least someone in the media is giving Kucinich some air time, that person being Ed Schultz. Three hours on the radio, I may just have to tune in and listen.

Hey, the Dems finally stood up to the Repubs over something. How ridiculous is it that the thing THEY want to do is vote on censuring people's opinion?

KO aired from Ground Zero last night. It's getting to feel like we're fighting Eurasia isn't it.

So apparently there is another Pentagon report coming out that calls for the quick withdrawal of troops at the beginning of the year. How convenient that it would come right before the election, sigh, and people will fall for it hook line and sinker.

Wow, they are already eating their own on the right. Romney has had more devious characters in his campaign so far then Nixon.

Where is it going to end when it comes to Capitol Police? Assaulting an officer my ass, that only works when there are no witnesses and the person doesn't have a BROKEN LEG!

As someone who lives in the Beltway Bubble Corrente hits it right on the nose. The folks only go home to see their families, not to talk to those who elect them.

Don't forget about this weekend's march at the White House on the 15th. I know I want to go just so I can see Etan Thomas, Washington Wizards basketball player.

This back and forth yesterday almost makes me sad to see Warner go. Hopefully Virginia will elect another Jim Webb person, we can only hope.

The search for the new Fredo continues with some Bolton look alike in the lead. Just looking at the people they're thinking about one phrase continues over and over in my head, we're fucked.

Tuesday Blog Round Up

Texas is joining me on the John Edwards train. It's nice to see he is gaining ground on the two candidates the media only wants to talk about.

A detailed analysis of the ass kicking we received on Sunday at the hands of our oldest and most respected rival. All I can say is Brodney Pool, fuckin Sooner.

One Marine speaks about how Iraq was doomed form the start. A very intriguing piece that really does a great job drawing you in.

There are quite a few sad kittens and rainy days until Petraeus can get his pony. Big ups to Corrente for finding this.

The NBC plan seems to be working out for KO as he destroyed his competition on Friday. You know somewhere BillO is having angry phone sex.

It's getting tougher for the administration to try to claim what the troops feel when they're doing a fine job of it on their own. Word has it they have turned down Senator Stevens' idea of using a cork to plug the tubes.

Pure gangsta bitches. For a man who wants to be a cop after he retires, he sure does have a lot of criminals on his bus.

At least SOMEONE is trying to get to the bottom of the Alabama Governor case. The case stinks to high heaven and once again DoJ doesn't look good at all during this.

Monday Blog O Dome

The Burnt Orange Report gives you a look into the minds of Texas voters right now when it comes to the Democrats. I found it odd the difference between female and male voters in regards to the Kiebler elf.

Apparently even Texas Republicans are fed up with the Governor. I've seen Ms Spelling talk on C-SPAN and the Daily Show and she seems to be a good egg, but sadly she's a part of THAT machine.

I know in 2007 there seems to be quite a few Republican scandals, almost constantly. Well it turns out we all feel this way because that is the way the cookie crumbles right now, one a week.

Today is the day for graphs, misleading statistics, and empty rhetoric. I wonder who will be the first to have a Network moment.

At least SOMEONE is attempting to call the White House on its bullshit. Of course it isn't Congress, but if they have any kind of luck it could end up there.

A detailed look at civilian death numbers over at Informed Comment. Apparently the numbers even we expect are far below what most bloggers report.

Apparently we're a bunch of racists in Virginia, or at least that's how I read into Rep. Jefferson's complaint. This is in Northern Virginia he shouldn't have a worry, it's not like he's going towards the Carolinas. I understand why he would want a DC jury, those are the folks that keep electing a felon into office.

You know that dream we have of troops leaving Iraq? Well Dubya and his gang of thieves are doing their best to ensure that it never EEEEEEEEEEVVVVVER happens a-gain!

I would think that the banning of books from a place would be unconstitutional. Then again they're prisoners and who is going to fight for their right of freedom of religion?

Finally, it turns out we should all be good and sober Democrats and come to realize that we're never leaving Iraq, ever. Mr. Kristol, if we're intoxicated it's because we need the special sauce to even listen to your propaganda without losing our lunch.
