Do the Humpty Hump!

Wow, Steeler fan does have some creativity left in them. Apparently scarfing down triple cheeseburgers with sides of Large Onion Rings for breakfast isnt all they do for fun. (Had to include the pic to even the playing field for Browns fan)

Warning- Video contains dog humping (BROWNS FAN BEWARE)

Browns QB

This sums up our return. Hopefully one of the three remaining will help us vanquish our most hated foe this Sunday.

The JOE JUREVICIUS Theory

I should explain this to everyone since I began brining it up yesterday. Now this will sound conspiracy theorist and plain nutty, and it may be a fan having hopes that may not exist, but the history is there. Joe Jurevicius has been to three Super Bowls with three different teams. The key to all of this is the timing of his going to those Super Bowls.

Joe first went to the Super Bowl during the 2000-01 season with the New York Football Giants. They were unsuccessful to winning, but it happened in his third NFL season. Two years later he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they went on to defeat the Oakland Raiders in the Jon Gruden Bowl. Still one of the most impressive feats I've ever seen, coaching two teams to the Super Bowl. Three years after winning that Super Bowl he was a Seattle Seahawks for a season and went with that team to the Super Bowl and lost to the Steelers in a route.

3-2-3.

Do you see this pattern? Perhaps it is only a pattern a crazy person sees, like those who count down to the end of the Mayan Calendar or those who show the similarities between Lincoln and JFK, but there is a pattern. This season would be his second season since his last Super Bowl. It would complete the pattern of 3-2-3-2, now this may be going Lost on some of you, but what if the pattern sticks?

I know many folks are just saying we won yesterday because of the mistakes the Bengals made, but we actually played like a NFL football team yesterday. Our defense did get two interceptions and a strip fumble recovery. We're not the best, but they came through when needed. We seem to be getting no credit, but I wonder what would happen to the credit after we beat the Raiders this week? After that we have the Ravens at home, at New England and the Dolphins at home. We keep playing the way we are and we're 4-2 at our bye week. What would the talk then be? Would people start believing in the Joe Jurevicius theory?

This Browns fan would like to hope so.

Chad freakin Johnson

Chad Johnson, the most entertaining player in football history, has declared his touchdown celebration intent if he scores this Sunday against the Browns.
Following up a promise he made last year but failed to fulfill, Johnson said if he scores on Sunday, he's jumping into the Dawg Pound.
Yes. That's a star player, enemy of all Dawgs, vowing to jump into one of the least-friendly places in the NFL.
"That," Johnson said, "would be a first."
...
"I can't wait to see the Dawg Pound," he said. "I hope I get in there. They can give me some popcorn, throw some beers at me, whatever they want to do.
"It should be fun."

Wow...just...wow.

Now the Dawg Pound is no Black Hole, we're not packing knives, brass knucles, batteries or guns. I just don't think it is a wise idea, if he jumps in he may not come out. They may not find a body for weeks, then again, he may get so much beer poured on him he may be legally intoxicated. We only have to wait a few short days to find out.

Tuesday Blog Round Up

Texas is joining me on the John Edwards train. It's nice to see he is gaining ground on the two candidates the media only wants to talk about.

A detailed analysis of the ass kicking we received on Sunday at the hands of our oldest and most respected rival. All I can say is Brodney Pool, fuckin Sooner.

One Marine speaks about how Iraq was doomed form the start. A very intriguing piece that really does a great job drawing you in.

There are quite a few sad kittens and rainy days until Petraeus can get his pony. Big ups to Corrente for finding this.

The NBC plan seems to be working out for KO as he destroyed his competition on Friday. You know somewhere BillO is having angry phone sex.

It's getting tougher for the administration to try to claim what the troops feel when they're doing a fine job of it on their own. Word has it they have turned down Senator Stevens' idea of using a cork to plug the tubes.

Pure gangsta bitches. For a man who wants to be a cop after he retires, he sure does have a lot of criminals on his bus.

At least SOMEONE is trying to get to the bottom of the Alabama Governor case. The case stinks to high heaven and once again DoJ doesn't look good at all during this.

Cleveland's Coaching Future

The Nose Bleeds has an interesting post up about Bill Cowher possibly becoming the Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns next season after Romeo Crennel is fired. As a fellow Browns fan I felt I should speak about this situation.

The speculation comes from Big Ben being quoted saying:
"Only he could tell you that," Roethlisberger said. "Honestly - and I can only talk for a few of the players here - we joke around and say that (Cleveland) could be his No. 1 spot."

Some folks would love this idea, for you all must understand one thing about Bill Cowher. Before he was the face of the Steelers, he played and coached for the Cleveland Browns. It would be the victorious son returning home to lead his former home to the glory land. It would be a fantastic story, I'm just not sure I want it to happen.

First and foremost Cowher would likely want the Holmgreen type deal where he is also the GM of sorts and we have a wonderful GM right now in Phil Savage. Since he has taken over we have actually drafted well for the first time since we returned to the NFL. Whatever happens to Romeo I believe Savage is here to stay since his players are playing well and are the bright spot of the Browns. Therefore Cowher won't have the type of power he will likely command, that alone should eliminate him from the conversation.

Second is the deal of recycling coaches over and over. We don't need a Tom Coughlin, Mike Martz, or Mike Holmgreen. Their style was a decade ago, it no longer fits anymore. I am a firm believer that each decade has a certain coaching style. The 70s saw Noll and Shula. The 80s were all about Bill Walsh. The 90s was dominated by Jimmie Johnson and his assistants. The 2000s are without a doubt Bill Belichick's, with a lil bit of Tony Dungy thrown in there. What we need now is the coach who will lead the next style of play into the the teens.

Third is who those coaches are and my first thoughts come to two men, two brothers. If you haven't figured it out my choice is either Rob Ryan, defensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders or Rex Ryan, defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens. I believe the organization would lean more towards Rex because of Phil Savage's familiarity of him, plus the fact that they went New England defense once (Ryan was the Pats Linebacker's coach) and it didn't turn out too well.

We have seen the job Rex Ryan has done with the Baltimore defense the last two years, and this year will likely be more of the same. They seem to constantly lose players and it has yet to hurt them, they just keep reloading. That is due to having an eye for talent and knowing how to coach said talent. I also think that we should keep Rob Chudzinski as our Offensive coordinator. He knows the team, knows how to make a dynamic offense, and we should keep him along so we could finally have some stability in our offensive game plan.

There you have it, my thoughts on our current head coach situation. I like Crennel as a coach, I just don't know if he has what it takes to be a head coach is all. I believe the Ryans will be two terrific head coaches in the NFL, all we need to do is give one of them the chance to excel. The only other person I would seriously consider would be Mike Singletary, if he became our head coach, lord help you all.

Ohhh you just got served

This goes out to Rex Grossman

Friday Blog The Horn

We open today with a great analysis of energy, politics, candidates and where they all stand. I love the opening part about all the ties the Administration has to the oil industry, at least we're not the only ones who can recognize it.

You can bet that commuting a death sentence would never have happened on Dubya's watch. Hell, he tried to install an express lane for people who had Smart Cards.

Let it be know that Iowa is now going to be included on the list of places that have "activist judges". It's not activism when all they are doing is following the letter of the law folks.

I love this kind of thinking. When something is broken and filled with corruption, press the restart button.

KO lets us know that the GAO report was leaked because of fear of the administration watering it down once again. What, the administration manipulate a report to suit their ends? Never.

The Right-to-Lifers continue to spread their lies and misleading information. This time they target Colorado, the one place that NEEDS birth control. Say it with me folks, no more Broncos fans!

KO goes after Bush and how a Republican state not hit as badly by Katrina has received about double more money then the Democratic state hit worse by the hurricane. Of course this should come as no surprise by anyone, Kanye West already told us why.

The state of the Terminator took steps to prevent bad sci-fi movie shit from becoming real life and mandatory. Now my friends and I have to stop another friend from creating Skynet.

The Diamond Hoggers have your various baseball stories in one nice little article, go forth and multiply.

Hey, someone got a hold of the questionairre job application for the Justice Department. How can you say this doesn't violate the Hatch Act? Well, I guess you could say it, it just wouldn't be true.

We all knew Manny Rameriz was from Planet Man-Ram, but now we know who his parents are as well. I wonder, was he babysat by Jim Neidhardt?

The Cleveland Browns took it the defending NFC Champions last night. Let it be known that Joshua Cribbs is quickly becoming the most beloved son in Cleveland since a man named Bernie.

I want to be serious for a minute, like Lance Storm, this makes me sick to my stomach. I am down right furious right now, they have no right what so ever and damn them and their souls for doing this. If you're as upset at this as I am look into the organization mentioned.

The Quinn Supremacy

As one of the two resident Browns fan here on LSWTF, I thought I should speak up about Brady Quinn's performance this weekend and why the entire Browns fandom is excited, hard and wet over the Irishman. You have to understand, when we boil everything down to the bare bones, we've never had someone perform like that.

You see since we were given a team once again we have not had a starting QB who did shit or shinola for us. He came in and in two drives scored twice, almost winning a game. We got excited because we haven't had a QB who could do that since Bernie Kosar. I don't care if it was against third stringers, he's been in camp a week, A WEEK! So excuse us if we feel like the 12 year old kid in the 80s who just saw Phoebe Cates' breasts.

Now then let us get to the gristle of the matter, we are just now getting close to building a team. We received a team but those in charge of what most would call "team building" did nothing of the sort. We really didn't see any progress on that front until Romeo and Phil Savage came on board. We could have had Willis McGahee but Butch Davis didn't want to seem like all he wanted was his former players, ass. Hell, look at this list of players who were taken in the first round of 1999, the year we drafter Tim Couch number one, and who was just cut by the Jaguars.

Donovan McNabb | Edgerrin James | Ricky Williams | Torry Holt | Champ Bailey | David Boston | Chris Claiborne | Chris McAlister | Daunte Culpepper | Troy Edwards | John Tait | Anthony McFarland | Jevon Kearse | Damien Woody | Matt Stinchcomb | Luke Petitgout | Patrick Kerney | Al Wilson

We could have had any of those player and we chose a quarterback from Kentucky. The ownership thought a man who never won at Kentucky would be fine leading an NFL franchise...one word for you boys, dumbass. I myself that year, being the Longhorn mark that I am, wanted Ricky Williams. Hell, we could have started our defense right and taken Champ Bailey or even Jevon Kearse!

So you can understand why we still get excited when one of our draft picks shows promise or even competency, we are still getting used to that. Romeo Crennell and Phil Savage had an uphill climb and I think they have done wonderful with all things considered. They understand they have to build a team, and not like the Florida Marlins.

Sigh, if only we had come back a year early, we could have someone you may have heard of, goes by the name Peyton.
