HUGE Rumor

SportsbyBrooks found a report from Pro Football Talk.com that the Miami Dolphins are thinking about giving up their number one draft pick for....

Derek Anderson.

I know many Browns fans are undecided about the DA situation, but if we could get the 1st and 3rd round picks of the Dolphins (which will be numero uno) for DA we HAVE to pull the trigger. This enables us to get either Darren McFadden or Chris Long (Dorsey doesn't fit in a 3-4), could you just imagine that for a second? Wow...

The same site also suggests that Bill Parcells wants Romeo Crennel to come coach the Dolphins as well. I think Romeo has earned a two year extension, but them taking Romeo could lead to more draft picks from the Dolphins and thus allowing us to get those defensive players we sorely need.

Tell you what man; I don't think the Browns or Dolphins have been or will ever be in discussions of DA for #1 overall pick. They have 2 second rounders in Miami, I think it's more logical to involve those picks, (because their one second rounder is actually a late 1st w/ the Pats forfeit of the pick); along with something else.

I can tell you the #1 overall for DA will never happen. Also, Dallas has two first rounders. Maybe they make a move with Miami and give up those 2 for the #1 overall. Of course, how well Jerry Jones and Parcells play together at this point is anyone's guess.

Oh, I agree, but if there is even a slight chance that they could sign him to the 1st and 3rd round tender....ohhhh boy. I think that is the key when it comes to Phil Savage. He won't TRADE DA away, but if someone as high up as the Dolphins were willing to give up the first and third after the RFA tender he may not be so inclined to match the offer.

I do believe the Cowboys will move up and get McFadden, but I see them moving with the Jets, not the Dolphins.

I can't believe nobody has called out PFT's report, considering the source is the ever non-informed Tony Rizzo radio show. This is the same guy who proclaimed that Delvon Roe was going to Ohio State a good month after Roe held a press conference announcing his decision to attend Michigan State. He continued to correct himself on the radio show the next morning by saying he is going to UNC.

FWIW, there's no way that we'll get the 1st and 3rd out of Miami after tendering D.A. the max offer. I know Schaub's price was high, but for a team who has been dumping draft picks year after year on unproven or chronically injured QBs is unlikely to pay such a high price for D.A.

I agree, it's far fetched, but doesn't it feel nice to dream once and awhile?

I hope and dream that Tom Brady gets the Joe Theesman treatment on Sunday. Doesnt mean its going to happen.
