CAPS PLAYOFF BOUND!!

The Washington Capitals have done it!! An amazing stretch winning seven games in a row in order to win there division and capture the 3rd seed in the NHL playoffs. Fedorov was the hero of the finale in which the caps has to win or at least drag into overtime for a point. Fedorov played like he was 10 years younger tonight. Alexander Ovechkin did not score a point in tonight's game however as a mark of his season he heard many "MVP" chants shouted from the large sea of red in the stands.

This victory put the Capitals in the playoffs for the first time in five years. It's also the first time in NHL history that a team has gone from last place at the midway point of the season, to joining the playoffs. This win should also wrap up the Hart Trophy (MVP) for Alexander Ovechkin who set an NHL record for most goals by a Left Winger. Ovechkin also led the league in points.

Christobal Huet earned his 8th victory in as many tries becoming one of the most important pick ups in all of the trade deadline. Welcome to the Stanley Cup Playoffs Washington Capitals!
