CAPS PLAYOFF BOUND!!

The Washington Capitals have done it!! An amazing stretch winning seven games in a row in order to win there division and capture the 3rd seed in the NHL playoffs. Fedorov was the hero of the finale in which the caps has to win or at least drag into overtime for a point. Fedorov played like he was 10 years younger tonight. Alexander Ovechkin did not score a point in tonight's game however as a mark of his season he heard many "MVP" chants shouted from the large sea of red in the stands.

This victory put the Capitals in the playoffs for the first time in five years. It's also the first time in NHL history that a team has gone from last place at the midway point of the season, to joining the playoffs. This win should also wrap up the Hart Trophy (MVP) for Alexander Ovechkin who set an NHL record for most goals by a Left Winger. Ovechkin also led the league in points.

Christobal Huet earned his 8th victory in as many tries becoming one of the most important pick ups in all of the trade deadline. Welcome to the Stanley Cup Playoffs Washington Capitals!

Welcome to DC Eh?

CRISTOBAL HUET!!!!

The Washington Capitals have made the move that might catapult them into the playoffs. They traded a 2nd round pick next year for the Montreal Canadiens top goaltender. Now the Capitals have a younger and, going by numbers, better goalie.

The Capitals know how to score, well Ovechkin does anyways, there biggest concern all season has been GAA (Goals Against Average). Huet has a 2.55 GAA this year whereas Kolzig's is abover 3.00..

I don't know if anyone was expecting this because I never heard one rumor about this deal. But it is official and the Capitals have become a force to be reckoned with for the last part of the season.

Go Caps Go!

The Washington Capitals are off to there best start since 2002, which happens to be the last time they went to the playoffs. I know it's only two game into the season but being an Orioles and Skins fan it's about the only bright thing I have going for me right now.

Keep a look out for this team. They got a lot of talent and a good mix of veterans. Who knows.. they might have a shot of returning to the glory days of making the playoffs every year.. but never winning a damn thing.
