Ladies and gentlemen, we are officially relevant. Recall that high-speed train discussion from a few weeks back? Turns out that plans are in the works to spread high-speed trains around the U.S., starting in L.A., Atlanta, possibly a Boston to Baltimore run.
The most startling thing here that shouldn't have been startling is the cost: between $5 million and $100 million per mile. Outrageous, but so outrageous once you consider that connecting cities by way of high-speed train you'll need to work through suburbs.

I nominate Mr. Shane Rollins as head Civil Engineer on this one. Or Id say sell the map plan. The proceeds could fund a LSWTF party in Miami!!
