Congrats G-Men

It's disappointing to have to say this, but congratuations to the New York football Giants and their fans. They earned the win last night. As a Patriots fan, I must admit that I was shocked by what I saw last night. There were dozens of moments where you could tell that the Pats just didn't have the fire that the Giants had. Brady wasn't inspired, you could tell from the moment he walked out of the tunnel. Still, it was a hell of a game.

What gets me though is the absolute vitriol tossed at the Patriots. I watched the game with some folks who neither watched much football nor were Giants fans, and yet they were out for blood rooting against the Patriots. It's one thing to pull for the underdog, and it's another to have a palpable hatred for a true rival, but whatever people are feeling about the Patriots is of a different breed. I still don't really get it.

But I do know that very, very soon we'll all be very sick of Giants fans. I already am after a couple of choice (and unsolicited) text messages. I'm apparently supposed to enjoy my shit sandwich and stop living in the past.

In all, really, the better team won last night. They were fired up, they were hitting, moving the line, and caught breaks when they needed them. I'm strangely not bitter about this one, just disappointed that my team is now like the Rams of 2002. Congrats, G-Men, you earned it.

Its the residual hatred of Red Sox Nation...

I blame Jerry Remy and those assholes at NESN, because I can't understand it totally either.

I'm not a Pats fan, but I admit I was pulling for them yesterday. That being said, I was an extremely small minority of the crowd watching, and those rooting against the Pats where full of the same hatred that you speak of.

Its just that god damn Sawks Nation crap man, anything associated with Boston has been smeared by that now and its gonna be one helluva tough sell to change people's mind you aren't "Popped collar, ivy league, pricks".

I think the end of the game reaffirmed why alot of people hate the Pats, and that is Bill Belickek. He was classless, rude, sour, and an all around asshole.

Back to the game, was one hell of a game, regardless of the outcome. The hotel room was in dead silence after that Randy Moss TD catch. One thing is for sure, We all felt Eli was unworthy of the MVP and that Justin Tucks gameplay in the first half deserved that trophy.

He gets the MVP because he's a QB, plain and simple. Nevermind the fact that his contribution was basically heaving the ball around and hitting wide open receivers.

I still don't know how that Tyree catch happened. There were about five holds on the line, Eli got spun around, threw a duck, and Tyree somehow caught a ball with his helmet with Rodney Harrison in his face. There were so many things going against the Giants on that play that I don't know how what happened actually happened.

I was rooting for Kawika Mitchell for MVP personally, if I had to go for a Giant. He seemed to be all over the freaking place.

Dominik Davis got the MVP last season over Peyton Manning.

That play was intense. There were penalties on both sides of the ball but im glad the refs let them play football. That catch was spectacular. Im still scratching my head as to how he managed to catch/secure that ball without it touching the ground.

Justin Tuck was a sure fire for MVP to me, he sacked and pressured Brady like nobody has done this entire season. Def made him uncomfortable
