Thursday Throw Down

This post reminds me of rules on the GOE forums. Remember kiddies, experience is the only way to have knowledge which comes with age so anyone under the age of fifty is an idiot.

Mr. Comey should be right about his predictions but sadly I don't know if they actually see anything wrong with torture. Sadly the DoJ think they're the head of CTU and the CIA is as competent as Jack Bauer.

Could California voters be something good for a change? I seriously hope this works, and with the quickness, we need Al quick.

Did I wake up in a bizzaro world where Ann Coulture is supposed to be the Conservative voice of reason?! Oh, no, it's just the Today show doing their usual half assery interview as they let Ann Himmler support nuking Iran.

For once the SC does not hear a case and I agree with their decision not to. Bravo SC, I know some of you were tempted to hear it.

Clear Channel Communications is at it again this time censoring the VoteVets ad during the Rush Limbaugh show. I don't think the VV folks will take this sitting down, least I hope they don't.

Apparently the rocket that was to be Fred Thompson's candidacy has faltered at lift off. Of course the man has no passion, Dick Cheney is more alive then the overweight crypt keeper.

I've been wondering where AQI has been getting money for arms well now we know. Sadly an Iraqi who was trying to do the right thing needs asylum from us, and when are we gonna replace the problem of Maliki?

Apparently the reason Republicans weren't investigated in Alabama is because the ones investigating were the ones named. Great job there buckos, this doesn't look like dirty pool what so ever.

The White House attempts to point the finger at a company that doesn't exist. It wasn't the White House it was Red Herring.

RightHandGirl

I was guided by our teacher, Zeke, to check out this site where I found...RightHandGirl.

Wow...just watch the NYT and World's Worst videos. People think she's smart, original and dead on. This scares me. If I may, just a few quick words for this lil blonde fire cracker.

1. Just because it is a Top Secret program doesn't mean it is a.)legal b.)treasonous to reveal and c.)aiding the enemy. The NYT have no obligation as they have not signed to keep the information classified especially if this "program" is illegal and spying on American citizens without the necessary paperwork. It is not treasonous because it doesn't give aide to our "enemy" especially since it uncovers unconstitutional actions by a government upon its people.

2. Keith Olbermann had a career before his show on MSNBC. I know you're young and may not know, but KO was one of the biggest anchors on ESPN before who moved into the political world. Oh, and for your information, BIN LADEN IS LIKELY IN PAKISTAN! So naturally there is a desire to invade them. You want to rant and scream about how Iran MAY get nuclear, well Pakistan is ALREADY NUCLEAR! Another hint there miss, Sean Pean is an American who is allowed to hate his President and befriend whoever he likes, even if it makes you frown.

Folks let us get one thing very clear. Not supporting this administration's goal of dominance in the middle east is far from being a "traitor". Disagreeing with the war is not "treasonous. I'm sorry we all don't desire to live in the dark with tunnel vison where everything is simple, the answers have few words, and good and evil are easily decoded by the color of their hats. Not every Muslim wants to bomb the world and give their life. Are there some, sure, but not every white Christian is a member of the KKK either.

Zeke

Further reporting from the land where the Eagles soar. There is this old timer on there, screen name is Zeke. Zeke has his picture up and he looks like a vet, a very old one. Sadly though his uniform reminds me more of a North Korean uniform then a US one, but then again it is a small picture. Zeke is a helpful man, he is always reminding me to stop wasting everyone's time and go do some good dead. Always asking what have I ever done to help this country and of course he also believes that I am 13 years old since I see other issues in this country other then those scary Muslims. He goes away for days at a time, but he returned sometime in the last 24 hours and left me the following.
Damn Shame, haven't you ever comprehended any thing you've read here?

Just a coupla:

No Ten Commandments= No Bill Of Rights. First the foundation then the building. So it is appropriate you should learn the older Law first.

The people here have been more than generous to you. Try to get over yourself, go do something helpful to someone.

Be generous with some thing other than your adolescent opinion. Your childish petulance when asked a question I find extremely boring.

Eagle Moms and Dads, let him stay up alone. He can have this thread all for himself.

Shane, if you go to another thread, just read for a week. Do not post on serious matters. You are usually wrong, always annoying. Good night!

Isn't he just the sweetest old man you've ever seen? Well, of course I had to be just as courteous and reply.
Ah, a beautiful post Zeke. Once again you amaze me with your way to whittle away my adolescent mind. I especially love the constant encouragement to go and do something helpful, reminds me of the days of long past where charity wasn't so shunned upon. Oh, especially clever name change, I almost didn't catch, bravo sir. There is one slight problem with your theory, if I may help you out.

The Bill of Rights involves no establishment of religion, right to bear arms, no quartering of soldiers, right to be secure against unreasonable search and seizure, no holding of a citizen without indictment, speedy trials, right to a trial by jury, unenumerated rights, and powers of the state and people.

The Ten Commandments involve no other gods before him, no idols, no wrongful us of God's name, keeping the sabbath holy, honor parents, don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't steal, don't bear false witness, and don't covet your neighbor's house or wife.

Now my question to you is where do either of these look like the other? Oh wait, I know! Cause there's ten of them, great deduction watson.

You're right Zeke, there have been many kind folks here and I've been equally respectful to them. Then again, they bring something to the conversation. I can't say that about everyone here.

The Reply

As mentioned earlier Friday, the war of religion has been ongoing. The following is the reply...
------------------

Shane, you missed the point. Point was, if "they" whoever "they" is, want to try to shape our government that way, "they" have a right to think that way. Just the same way Nazis can think their way, and Islamo-facists can think their way. They get to try, if they are American citizens. I no more want the establishment of "Old Testament" Biblical law in the US than I want Sharia Law - I am perfectly content with our Constitution and our Republican Democracy. By the way, Followers of Christ" "Christians" for short, are much more interested in what Christ had to say than in instituting the old Jewish laws associated in the old testament concerning stoning and whatnot. Stoning is so — messy. However, the Ten Commandments are wise words for a society to consider when shaping its laws. There's other wise words to consider from other religions as well.

You had mentioned in a previous post that Christians were somehow insinuating themselves into the government affairs because of the institution of Marriage. Personally, I'd like to see "marriage" removed entirely from our government's laws and nomenclatures and make such arrangements simply legally binding "contracts", irrespective of who was doing what to whom. Marriages are sanctified by a religious institution; contracts and contract law are the stuff of government. But that is not what the homosexual community is after. For some reason or another, they feel they'll only be validated if their same-sex "unions" are called "marriages". To me, that's demeaning of the religious institution of marriage. But I'm getting off topic.

If I am inspired by my Christian beliefs to act in a certain way, and therefore to try to get elected government officials who believe in the same things I do, how is that wrong? My actions ARE based in my belief system. From what you said above, it's OK for me to be "inspired" but I'm not allowed to "base" my actions on my beliefs. That makes no sense whatsoever, because you can never know exactly WHY I took any particular action that I did. I could tell you one time I was "inspired" because of the writings of John-Paul Sartre or for the same action I could tell you I did it based on my religious beliefs - and you would have no grounds whatsoever to refute or believe either of those statements. You cannot regulate thought - you can only react to action, and all actions have consequences, good or bad.

I have never heard of RJ Rushdooney - is he a political appointee or is he an elected official? If he is neither of those things, then what he thinks or says has no bearing whatsoever on this discussion. If he's an American citizen, he has a right to think anything he wants and to write about it if he wants to. I and you are both free to not listen to a word he says, nor buy his books, nor seek to get him or any of his believers elected into public office. Is RJ Rushdooney the leader of some secret sect we all haven't heard of, who somehow pulls puppet-strings for President Bush and/or the Republican members of the House and Senate? If so, I missed that in your explanation. If so, that's one secret society that must be pretty good at keeping secrets! I sure haven't heard that one before. Is he like, a Freemason or something? Does he have a secret club or secret handshake thing going?

"In their views in accordance to old testament law people would be executed
for committing adultery, blasphemy, heresy, homosexuality, idolatry,
prostitution, witch craft and a few other things that would have you stoned or
burned alive according to the old testament. If you can support those things,
more power to you (though it would eliminate almost every politician republican
or democrat all at once). The status of women would be reversed to where their rights would be less then those of men, since this is old testament law. "

Let me be very clear on this - I don't believe capital punishment for any of the things you mentioned above is appropriate. I could no more support capital punishment for those things than I could the institution of Sharia law. I really haven't heard any politicians or, frankly, any groups standing on soapboxes on streetcorners calling for capital punishment for such things. Have you? Even if you did, how big a following do you think groups such as those have? Heard anything like that on the news lately - either the MSM or FOX? It amazes me that, for a person that appears to be intellectually honest, you appear to be very frightened of these whackos. Try to get a grip - I don't think there are a lot of them around. Compare to the number of radical Islamists there are in the world, and see which is of greater concern to you.

Now, that having been said, there are a LOT of Christians around, and we sure do believe in morality as espoused in the Ten Commandments, and perhaps even more importantly, in the "Big Two" from the Lord Jesus. In fact, you're probably pretty OK with number Two: Love thy neighbor as thyself - It's what they taught you in Kindergarten as "The Golden Rule." Congratulations! It does in fact form the basis for what we see as "right" and what we see as "wrong." However, moral relativism gives everyone a "free pass" so to speak, and really is supportive of anarchy. Where is the line between anarchy and a society of law and order? The answer is that in a society of law and order, the governed agree on a common method of determining law, and agree to abide by it. Law defines what that society believes is "right" and therefore legal, and what is "wrong" and therefore not legal. And the society agrees to abide by those things. Those who do illegal things are dealt with under the law, again as agreed to by the society. Now, as long-winded as I typically am, I am not going to teach the government course here today (maybe later), but I will point out, again, that American law has its basis in Judeo-Christian ethics. What Christians often see is an erosion of what used to be "wrong" by moral relativism, which espouses that nothing is wrong - its all relative. We believe that results in a loss of the moral compass which has guided our civilization so far. We may not like it, but "Que Sera Sera". Doesn't mean we won't try to stop the moral decline, as allowed under our laws and our Constitution.

My religion believes it is wrong to murder someone in cold blood. Should we not punish that act, Shawn? How about stealing from someone else - (That's number 7) - should we not punish that act? Where do you stop? - I'll tell you where - we stop in the Legislature, and with the Executive Branch, and with the Judicial Branch. Our wonderful Constitution, which I swore an oath to defend, and still do to this day, set up those agreements under which we as an American society choose to live. We all agree, as Americans, to run things by the Constitution. I don't really like the fact that it's OK to kill unborn babies, and to have the Government pay for it. I think it's wrong. However, the law of our land, carried out under the Constitution that I agreed to pay my life to defend, if necessary, says that that's OK. Now, I don't have to like it, but I have to live by the law, as an American. And I do. And I can express my opinion about it without my Government imprisoning me for saying so. I also get to try to work through the government, using the means our Constitution gives us, to get that law changed. I don't have the right to do something illegal (such as hurting someone else or blowing up a building) to try to get that changed. If I do that, I am responsible for the consequences of that action under thew law. Similarly, you have the right to try, using the means of our Constitution, to get whatever laws you disagree with changed, be they laws associated with homosexuality, marriage, murder or stealing. THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF OUR AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE! and on this I am pretty sure we'll find common ground. I do in fact respect the right of every moonbat who marched down the street on 15 September - they get to do that. I get to stand there when they walk by and tell them what I think :) That's the beauty of our Country and our Constitution.

So I'm sorry if you don't like it that some groups who call themselves Christians go overboard - I am too. But they get to do that, under our Constitution. Being intellectually honest, I'd no more glom on to some group trying to make Christianity the official religion of the nation than I would some other religion. But, the Constitution allows only that:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

That's it - that's what it says. Any person or group who wants to try to get the laws changed to fit their or their religion's ideas of what is right or wrong is free to try to do so AS LONG AS THEY DO IT IN THE WAYS OUR CONSTUTUTION ALLOWS.

Islam is not a threat. Islamo-facism is a threat. Two posts ago, I explained the difference. Please go re-read that. Now, regarding Congressman Ellison, he is an elected official. The people of his district elected him to represent them. There is nothing wrong with that. As long as he is acting in accordance with our Constitution, he'll get no trouble with me. However, in the battlefield of ideas, he and I can and will go head to head. I'll work like the dickens to keep candidates in office who I think will best represent me and my ideas of right vs. wrong, which are based on my religious beliefs, and work like the dickens to keep people out of office who I think will weaken our country. You'll do the very same thing - and rightly so.

I do not see every Muslim as a threat. I don't think my Brother-in-Law is a threat. But he doesn't threaten to blow me up so he can get 72 Virgins in paradise - he's just as happy here on earth with my sister. I see people who want to blow me up as a threat, and I see those who believe that they need to offer me a chance to either convert or be killed as a threat. That is radical Islam, and I consider that more of a threat than some backwoods preacher, because I can see the real effect radical Islam is having on the world. Those murderers are killing innocent people every day, yet the left chooses to think our American soldiers are the murderers. How thoroughly unenlightened! I saw it on 9/11/01, and I saw it before then. Please search my posts and see if you can find where I said that I felt ALL Muslims were a threat? The "Religion of Peace" (called that by some of its proponents) doe in fact hve specific direction in the Qu'Ran indicating exactly how they are to take over the world by conversion. In the NEW Testament, you aren't going to find anywhere in there saying we have to kill people if they don't convert. In every case, you'll see my concerns are with Islamo-facists, "Radical" Islam, and those who support Radical Islam - the same as you. So, you assume wrong - and you know what they say about when you assume…:).

"I realize a good number of folks like you like do do revisionist history.

That's a terribly disingenuous thing to say, Shawn. You take that back. You don't know me, but for the several posts I've put up. Please point out wherein I "rewrote history" - let me know if you find anything untruthful about what I have posted so far.

If anyone is trying to do "revisionist history, it's the folks on the left who teach our young children in school, and folks like Achmadinejad who tell us the Holocost never happened. Here's an article for you to read, by the way, on "revisionist history."

"What to think that this country was founded as a "Christian Nation"
yet you forget about Article VI, which states that public officials shall be "bound by oath or affirmation to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall
ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the
United States," basically taking the power of the church and setting up
religious pluralism and the separation of church and state. Yes, the government was not supposed to get involved in religious matters, but religion was also not to take over governmental matters."

I haven't forgotten that at all :) The oath I took states:

"I do solomnly swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely and without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter - so help me God."

But you know what, they wouldn't have stopped me from swearing that same thing (you're allowed to "affirm" in stead of swear if you want, when you take your oath) if I had left out the "so help me God" part. It still counts. I swore to defend the Constitution. That's what I'm a -doin' :) Nobody gave me a religious test when I took that oath. As long as the Constitution says what it currently says, no one ever will - nor will they deny me my appointment because I practice a particular religion. The Constitution guarantees freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.

But you are once again assuming things that aren't written in the Constitution directly. The words "Separation of Church and State" do not exist in the Constitution. Therin lies the difference between a strict constructionist (such as Justices Thomas and Scalia and myself) and judicial activists (such as Justices Ginsberg, Souter and Kennedy)

Once again, I never heard of RJ Rushdooney, and if he is not an elected or appointed government official, he has no bearing on this discussion - he gets to think and write whatever he wants, whether you and I choose to believe it or not.

"Folks like you who believe this to be a "Christian Nation" think Article VI to not say or mean what it does say and mean. Which is simply the legal barrier against Christian theocracy and the invention of religious pluralism. If we were founded as you say, why would have they put up those barriers against a Christian theocracy?"

Lemme clue you in, Shawn, I don't believe the United States is a "Christian Nation" nor do I want it to be. YOU pasted that moniker on me - incorrectly once again. I believe we are a nation that has a lot of Christians as citizens - in fact a majority of Christians in it - but it surely is NOT a "Christian Nation." - Just take one look at the utter garbage Hollywood is putting out. And a lot of Christians can decide that they want to elect people who, under the Constitution, will do what they believe is "right" and not do what they believe is "wrong". Simple as that. For a long time, Americans who were Christians sat back complacently and let moral relativists become a driving force (both cultrally, in the media, and politically) that, in my opinion, have weakened our nation considerably. We're not sitting back complacently as much any more. And we can do that or not, as we choose. When we become a nation that has a lot of atheists, well, the Constitution and the laws will reflect that, and the United States will be, let's say, different than what it was when you were born.

I know exactly what the Constitution says. And I don't have to read anyting into it or assume it means anything more than what it says. The founders put those words in the Constitution to mean exactly what they said, no more and no less. But it is impossible to ask representatives of any faith or lack of it to divorce their proponancy for shaping laws from their basic belief system. They will vote their conscience (if they are intellectually honest and not taking bribes), which is based on their belief system or lack thereof. You can't legislate that out of the decision making process, because it is impossible to get into their heads - see my opening paragraph. But you can ensure, by law, that no religious test is required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. Sure hasn't been one for me :) How bout you? Know of any of your other friends who were shut out of public office because they failed a religiousity test of some sort? If not, then what you really seem to be afraid of is that the Christian majority in this country might decide to become politcally active. Sorry, but, under the Constitution, they get to do that. But they have to do it under the laws as established under the Constitution.

Ain't me or anybody else in the Christian community gonna force you to swear an oath to love Jesus or we'll cut your head off. That's not what Jesus instructed us to do. I cannot say that for proponents of Radical Islam, whose Prophet does instruct them in this way. Consider which one is the bigger threat to you.

Example of the Front Lines

As you know I have been on the front lines of the GoE doing some investigative reporting. The following is a transcript of my latest post in a thread about the growing threat of theocracy in this great nation.
....
Being inspired by Christian principles and morals is different then being BASED on such things. You say you did not see any evidence which I found amusing since there were DIRECT QUOTES from people stating exactly what I was saying, but of course that must be some big lefty conspiracy. Has a politician ever said they were attempting to make this the "kingdom of god", of course not, that would be political suicide.

Let me say, again, they want application of OLD TESTAMENT LAW into our government. It first started getting big with a book by RJ Rushdoony in 1973 called the Institutes of Biblical Law. This is a group of theory that believe the only valid legislation, social theory, spiritual beliefs or economic theory are those derived from the bible.
In their views in accordance to old testament law people would be executed for committing adultery, blasphemy, heresy, homosexuality, idolatry, prostitution, witch craft and a few other things that would have you stoned or burned alive according to the old testament. If you can support those things, more power to you (though it would eliminate almost every politician republican or democrat all at once). The status of women would be reversed to where their rights would be less then those of men, since this is old testament law.

So your religion believes homosexuality, sex before marriage and the like is a sin. Who are you to impose YOUR religion on those who do not believe? Are we not a melting pot, where ALL can be equal? You keep mentioning Islam and this time Congressman Ellison, why is he or Islam a threat? I understand why RADICAL Islam is a threat, but by your comments I can only assume you see each and every Muslim as a threat. Just because something is written within a religious book doesn't mean every single follower believes that portion of it. Does every Christian believe they should stone an adulterous wife? Hell, the Catholics and Protestants basically have the same book and their not even the same religion. Sunni and Shia are two different sects of Islam, yet every Muslim is a threat? Stop living in fear of every single person who prays to Mecca. Not all of them want to blow up your family in the name of Allah, sure there are those who do, but not all of them do. For if they all did, then why do we even attempt to befriend the Iraqi people and rebuild their country?

I realize a good number of folks like you like do do revisionist history. What to think that this country was founded as a "Christian Nation" yet you forget about Article VI, which states that public officials shall be "bound by oath or affirmation to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States," basically taking the power of the church and setting up religious pluralism and the separation of church and state. Yes, the government was not supposed to get involved in religious matters, but religion was also not to take over governmental matters.
Rushdoony once wrote, "The Constitution was designed to perpetuate a Christian order," then asks rhetorically: "Why then is there, in the main, an absence of any reference to Christianity in the Constitution?" He argues that the purpose was to protect religion from the federal government and to preserve "states' rights."

Sadly RJ doesn't know history too well and ignores Article VI. Hell, many framers of the Constitution were strict Christians (as we noted prior) but it seems odd to me that a group so strict would do the exact opposite of what many try to claim. They became the first group that formed a government the had disestablishment, not only that WE INVENTED disestablishment. No other government in the history of man every created itself without the help of officially recognized gods and state connected ministers. Many colonies before 1787 had religious tests, allegiances and oaths to hold some kind of office, the Constitutional Convention however had very little debate over Article VI which unanimously passed article VI. Folks like you who believe this to be a "Christian Nation" think Article VI to not say or mean what it does say and mean. Which is simply the legal barrier against Christian theocracy and the invention of religious pluralism. If we were founded as you say, why would have they put up those barriers against a Christian theocracy?

As to appointing judges who are not religious, I don't care what their religion is. What I do care about is their interpretation of the law correctly without their own personal feelings getting in the way, much like Scalia does. I want my rights to be those guaranteed to me in the Constitution, not dictated to me by some religious book. One thing we can agree on is the Gods put us here with free will and I shall live my life with that and not under a boot of another person's religion.
A question was asked earlier that I would also address as I close. Someone asked me to name a terrorist group that was Christian, that part is easy, the Klu Klux Klan.

Investigative Reporting

The question has been asked and it shall be answered, whatever happened to dear ole Shane?

Well, if some of your remember last week came that story about an incident during the Anti-War march between a grieving father and some folks from the Gathering of Eagles Pro-War group that is consisted mainly of vets. When it came out thousands descended upon the GoE forums and hilarity ensued.

You had the usual trolls, bashing GoE, screaming, cursing, basically not being courteous in another person's home. Many were baned, posts were deleted, and terms like moonbats, trolls and the like were thrown around. A few of us were courteous, not surprising that we were all vets. We began having intelligent dialog, polite discourse, with a few of them. So for the last few days I have been engaged in what could be described as investigative reporting.

You see I have been in bedded within the GoE forums for the majority of my work day since this began. Throwing ideas off of people, putting up with old nutjobs from Vietnam, but finding a few good people to have discussion with. Sure, I had to educate some folks, like the lady who thought that Sherman's march to the sea freed the slaves. When I corrected her somehow it became Washington who freed the slaves. There are those who just naturally assume that I'm some liberal blowhard and so don't listen to anything I have to say.

These folks go blah blah blah commie pinko traitor treason and I more or less ignore them. I shouldn't be too surprised that the biggest offenders of this have been men in their 60s who served during Vietnam. There are also a few forty year old women who believe the same and it would make an interesting scientific study as to what makes a person go batshit crazy at those ages.

I did manage to find a few people who were willing to talk, to inform each other, and I would like to think learn from what someone else has to say. I won't go so far as to call the group good people, but there are good people within the group.

Though I think this experiment is coming to an end, the intelligent discourse is becoming few and far between the douchbaggery and I need to get back to reporting for each and every one of you out there that come to here wisdom from the top of the mountain.

My Latest Post to the GoE

In an attempt to engage in intelligent discourse with the Gathering of Eagles I have spent the better part of the last day on their message board. There are some intelligent board members, and those who still where the Faux News produced blinders. In an attempt to see their view on Iraq, I produced my ideas on how to fix the problem and I give it to you now.
...
I figured I'd start a discussion since most would just go to the lies thread to be "moonbats" and be vulgar in another man's home and I would really love to get ideas and responses from some of you. You may not agree with me, and this is only my opinion, but the plan in Iraq is flawed. Deaths continue to go up and where in a way it is nice to them kill each other instead of us, this has to stop as well.

I have read many times here in the last day how we are America, how great we are, and this is true. The problem right now is we don't look that great, we look like the class bully. You all think the only solution is military action, which is true in some cases but I don't believe it is true anymore in Iraq, if it ever truly was. There were a lot of claims about WHY we invaded but I still believe in two of them; to get Iraq's intell (which was the best in the middle east) and to create a military base in the middle east so that we were capable of striking terrorists at a moments notice. Honestly, I don't have any problem with either of these; they are good solid strategy especially in the region.

For me the problem is in a few different areas, starting with not giving our troops the right equipment for the job. If we saved a billion or two and not given them to the companies, we could have had better body armor and better vehicles. They've been attempting to get Buffalos and Cougars over there for years and the Pentagon drug their feet and waited till really pushing it last year. I can't begin to imagine how many lives those vehicles would have saved. I'm sorry, I don't buy the you go to war with the Army you have rhetoric they could have easily spent the extra money to get these made and shipped but they didn't.

The second issue is the amount of foreign business we gave control over things in Iraq. Haliburtion built I don't know how many things over there and some are already condemned or never actually finished. What we need to do is give that money to the Iraqis, get them involved in the actual process of rebuilding their country. Having them work is one thing, but if they work for Iraqi companies it also puts money back into the region. Maybe it's only my common sense, but people fight harder for things they built themselves then something they were given. We need the Iraqis to be more self reliant and I'm not talking about the do nothing political machine they have. The people themselves need to be kept occupied. It's hard to be an "insurgent" when you spend 8 hours a day building a school.

Thirdly with this initiated we need to redeploy the troops to more strategic positions. We need to send at the least 50,000 to Afghanistan to continue to fight the Taliban and find OBL. You kill a snake by cutting off its head, yet we haven't cut off their head. Figure out the way they fund things and stop it, find the leaders and eliminate them. At the same time we need to bring these folks up to "civilized society" and teach them about freedom. We have to remember all these folks know their entire life is religious government, they know nothing of freedom of press, religion, women's rights and so on and so on. The troops in Iraq that are left should be reduced to 50,000 period. It may seem like a steep drop off, but they should be focused on protecting critical areas and border patrol. Most of the insurgents are coming from Iran, Syria and Jordan. It's tough to sneak across the border when snipers are lined up along the border just waiting for someone to sneak across.

We also need some teaching at home for those of you who see islamofacism as the entire Muslim religion, it isn't. The easiest way I can explain this is comparing it to Christianity so I'm sorry if I offend anyone. Within Christianity there are many sects and branches from Catholics to Baptists to Mormons to Presbyterians and so on and so on. Islam is the same way, hell Sunni and Shia are the both Muslim but two different sects. If all Muslims were terrorists why are we allies with other middle eastern countries? Are you telling me Muhammad Ali is a terrorist? Just attempt to remember that some terrorists are Muslims but not all Muslims are terrorists. Think about it like this, Westboro Baptist Church are Christians but for you Christians do they speak for you?

I look forward to everyone's response and remember, just because they attack us in Iraq doesn't make that person a terrorist. We have invaded their home, some are merely fighting for their country where they see a foreign invader; wouldn't we do the same?

Support The Troops Indeed

This incident at the Anti-War rally last Saturday has got my blood more then a little hot. Carlos Arredondo is a Gold-Star father whose son Alex was killed in Iraq in 2004. Since then he has taken a memorial he made to thirty different states.

He was present and marching on September 15th when apparently he passed by some of the asshats from "Gathering of Eagles" who then vandalized his memorial and then proceeded to assault Carlos when he attempted to retrieve the picture of his son from them
Saturday, September 15, 2007 consisted of first a rally, a march towards the capitol and then a die-in. Carlos pulled the memorial along the march route approaching the rotunda near the capitol building. Several of the marchers requested for him to speak about the memorial where a crowd gathered around him. After finishing, several people walked with Carlos as he pulled the memorial. Several pictures of Alex dressed in his blues were attached to the display.

As Carlos passed counter protesters, one man ripped a picture of Alex from the memorial. Carlos leaped on the man to retrieve the picture. It was at that point that approximately five others all began to attack Carlos by kicking him in the head, legs, stomach and back.
...
The Capitol police bicycle patrol then appeared to break up the fight. Several officers including a female officer were engaged in breaking up the fight and were able to stop any further injuries from occurring. Hannah Jones who was walking with Carlos was also assaulted.

A bystander named Ramesh witnessed the whole encounter and also retrieved the picture of Alex for Carlos. He was quite distressed at how he watched the men follow Carlos as he pulled the memorial, purposefully yelling epithets and eventually taking Alex’s photograph. Soon, an ambulance showed up as well as many concerned activists. The paramedics provided first aid to Carlos but he did not seek further medical attention. Carlos sustained bloody cuts on his shins. He also reported bruises all over his torso and head where he was kicked.

My question is whether these so called Eagles were arrested for assault, perhaps even attempted murder since five on one seems very much like the case of the Jena 6 without the racism. Then again, Carlos isn't white so maybe that played a case as well.

I'm just glad I was not there, I don't know if I could have stood idly by and watched as these assclowns did this. Funny, this is the same group who claimed they were assaulted when someone SPIT AT THEM during the last march. Maybe mommy didn't teach you right boys, but if spitting is assault then without a doubt you all should be arrested for attempted murder.

UPDATE: Here is the link to the Gathering of Eagles forum where they talk about this. Apparently it all started when of them decided to "rescue" this marine.
